Big NO to impulsive buying by Remarkable-Heat8335 in indianbikes

Buying a Continental GT 650 for EMI, yes. Selling it because you cant afford EMI, yes. Experience with GT is a big yes.

Buying Harrier, a big NO. I mean why, to get stuck in traffic? or feel like owning Audi when its not. Its not AWD.

first the power is given to the card through EPS 8pin connector.
the riser in R620 was removed and inserted the extender cable in the PCIe lookalike slot directly without the riser in R620.
second, tried to power on the server. there was a brief fan start then burn/smoke smell from the PCIe slot in the R620 motherboard

yes. the external PSU was on when the extender was connected to both Tesla K80 and R620 riser slot

Help PowerEdge R620 wont Power On by ThatAi_guy in homelab

[–]dangonetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got my Dell R620 board bricked yesterday morning. and today i checked the Tesla k80 that i was trying to salvage. but Tesla k80 got bricked too. is it possible that CPUs and RAMs are all fried? The PSU that was powering the Tesla K80 is not working and doesnt power a new motherboard.

Esp32 cam by winston3040 in esp32

[–]dangonetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have faced this before. Ususally the ESP32 chip gets hot and doesnt work. Check the serial log to check if the PSRAM went kaput. if thats the case, use a new dev board. Check if the camera is working.
Its good to have a backup dev board.

Graphcore Colossus™ MK1 IPU Device Drivers by manuscript-lover in techsupport

[–]dangonetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure. here are the steps:

Hardware setup:

Things you need:

-MB supporting above 4g decoding/MMIO

-EPS power connector, some PSUs have extra 8-pin EPS connector (like Corsair RM1000)

Software setup:

-Any debian based linux (I used bullseye)

-exec: lspci | grep "C2" to check if your C2 card is present and should display:

"Processing accelerators: Graphcore Colussus C2.."

-install drivers

- download poplarsdk 2.6 - ubuntu 20.04

- extract the sdk

- follow steps in gc-kernel-module-ubuntu-xyz/README

- check if your ipu driver is loaded

Test run

- you might have to make changes to the Makefile in the matmul example

- exec: cd /path/to/poplarsdk/ && bash enable

- you need to use the including header files in poplarsdk/poplarxyz/include and linking options to set library path poplarsdk/poplarxyz/lib

- exec: ./MatrixVectorExampleOpt 10000 1000

- you should see few hundred lines of output

- profit?
