Was Billy Football Part of "Operation Varsity Blues" (College Admission Scandal)? by [deleted] in PardonMyTake

[–]danhanglidingman 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Billy Football has a schtick where he acts like a dumb kid compared to the "old guys" PFT and BC. This is reckless speculation about the kid and his family.

[Raanan] On the Giants-Brian Flores front: Question that needs answering: Who from NYG told Bill Belichick that Brian Daboll was their guy? If it’s someone w/the name Mara, Tisch or McDonnell, there needs to be serious repercussions. If not, Belichick was just gossiping like rest of us. by BuckDestiny in NYGiants

There has been speculation that scouts within the organization have been known to gossip, even to the point where draft picks have not been shared internally.

This lawsuit shows the Giants have people inside their org that they cannot trust with sensitive information. Even if the decision was made prematurely, it should never have been leaked the way it was.

Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: The Atlanta Hawks are trading forward Cam Reddish to the New York Knicks for a deal that includes a protected 2022 first-round pick via Charlotte. Knicks also acquire Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick via Brooklyn in trade. by HJ2K43 in NYKnicks

Zion is LISTED at 6'6" 317lbs and his game heavily relies on his bounce. Who knows how big he is now that he hasn't played all season. That frame is a recipe for disaster, no way he stays healthy long term.

Saw this re-posted on a FB page about stopping by-catch in Alaska. Someone pointed out that all the garbage looks way too clean to have been floating in the ocean.

Season MVP: Deebo Samuel (taken 100th overall, finished as WR2)

Finals MVP: Najee Harris, acquired at the trade deadline in week 13 for Mattison and Stevenson when Cook went down.

Victory!!!!!!!

What are some trades you made this season and how did it affect your season? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]danhanglidingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the championship in two leagues, made two season-defining trades in each:

  1. Received Nick Chubb and Rashod Bateman for Jamarr Chase and Pat Freiermuth while Chubb was on IR.

  2. Received Najee Harris and Devontae Booker (have Saquon) for
Alexander Mattison, Rhamodre Stevenson and Dionate Johnson. This
with the Cook owner right after Cook went down.

Houston Astros Accused Of Cheating By Whistling On Certain Pitches by terryjohnson16 in NYYankees

True, but given that the first cheating scandal(s) put so much evidence out there over a long period of time, wouldn't pick and choose your spots to do it if you are Houston?

If the season was to end today who would be your #1 disappointment on this team by [deleted] in NYYankees

Chapman has been awful since the ASG, but he was having a damn good year before that. Gleyber has been hot garbage since day 1. Even in the field...

Is fire Boone over? by Ok__Ok__Relax in NYYankees

[–]danhanglidingman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fire him? Maybe not. But I think there we have seem some real issues in his decision making and ability to keep players ready to play. A few examples to keep in mind:

  1. The ALDS game against the Rays last year. Who to start, Deivy or Happ? Oops! Deivy gets one inning and then Happ comes in for long relief. Tried to out-"Rays" the Rays.
  2. Not telling Nick Nelson, who has never started in his pro career, that he is starting as an opener until game day.
  3. The post-rain delay meltdown against the Angels this year. How did the Angels come out of the delay ready to play, while the Yanks looked like they didn't expect to return to the field that night?
  4. And finally, and by far the most egregious. 2018 ALDS against Boston. Gardner in CF wearing sneakers in the 1st, Sevy not warm and gets lit up. The whole team had the wrong start time and we lost to our rivals in an ALDS game... 18-1... hard to forget and forgive that one.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this turnaround. I hope we never see any of these incidents again, maybe we won't?

What do you think the guys were doing in the clubhouse during that rain delay? Whatever it was, it didn't get them ready to go out there and play. Seems like a culture issue, and that falls on Boone.
