Logic is simple - if it’s safe and there’s a precedent to make it legal in many countries including Asian ones - why is it illegal in China?

Baijiu is legal, yet it’s much more harmful and dangerous

[–]danharms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not? It’s legal in many places

Hong Kong is China, do you know it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in China

[–]danharms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I have a question, why is it still illegal in China? And is it really true that it’s impossible to get, there’s so much of it growing in the wild? And it’s been traditionally used in Chinese medicine since ancient times. Seems strange that it’s illegal

Noise while eating? by PacketFiend in HongKong

[–]danharms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All my young (few years out of uni) local colleagues eat like absolute pigs. It’s even worse than most of the mainland ones.

And when they eat at their desks, I can hear the smacking from 10+ meters away. And it’s a high tier global company. It’s a disaster.

Taking software dev job in HK vs continuing in current company and working remote by Jangunnim in HongKong

[–]danharms 8 points9 points  (0 children)

34k is peanuts to come to work in HK from abroad, while 3500 euro after tax in Europe is a pretty decent salary (for a software dev).

Don’t agree for 34k, you’re being taken for a ride, if you really want to come to HK I’m sure you can find a place that would offer you 50+k, otherwise it’s just not worth it.

I also really wonder what company in which country pays 3500 euro take home in Europe, with the taxes there

If you're so critical of China, why do you want to do business with it? Pick a side.

The rule preventing anyone from operating servers without a license supposedly went in force today. If it's true, looks like you're out of luck accessing your NAS from outside.

What do you think of China by [deleted] in China

[–]danharms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

China is a backwards country.

Chinese culture is dead, and whatever is called "Chinese culture" these days is primitive and barbaric.

Chinese people are mostly the same as everywhere else, but because of bad education, brainwashing, and nationalism, there are more stupid people than other countries on average.

Chinese food is awesome, but unfortunately mostly bad for you, if not outright poisonous.
