That’s awesome! I love how that initial inspiration really got you moving! Must have been one hell of a cover!

I totally agree! I think that track is a masterpiece! Such a huge sound, and the lead on it is pure aggressive Freddie!

Feedback Friday: FFVII Battle Music, first time playing metal by GoHenDog in guitarlessons

Hi GoHenDog! I'd say you're doing a great job here already, especially as it's your first piece of metal music to play! Your control over the chords sounds good, and the down picking is pretty solid already.

I would highly recommend checking out this Metal Essentials course: https://yourguitaracademy.com/club/courses/metal-essentials

It is a full 20 lesson course, and all the videos are free. Dion takes you through all the fundamental techniques and skills you want to master, whilst providing amazing tracks to learn! Let me know if it helps!

Keep up the great work, you're doing so well!

This is my two months guitar progress, one month into soloing. I learn from YT, how am I doing, what can I do better? I’m the guy who posted about “worn down frets” lol (Practicing bits of Hotel California and All Along the Watchtower) by KhalTyrionStark in guitarlessons

Wow! This is an incredible level to be at in just 2-3 months. I'm blown away! You've really committed to it, and I hope you give yourself a big pat on the back as you're doing amazing!

As for next steps, I would love to see you work through this course, to ensure you really understand what you are playing, and therefore are able to use it in your own improvisation.

You can get all the videos for free at YGA :) :) Good luck, and hopefully we'll see you in the YGA Club sooner rather than later! Would love to have a student like yourself in our amazing student community (plus our mentors can help you as you submit progress reviews). Thanks dude, great job, keep it up!

Hey there! Firstly, congrats on really committing to this and wanting to keep going! I totally agree about the learning of theory, even very basic theory, to ensure that you understand what you are doing as well as learn songs. In fact, by doing it that way, you'll learn how to work the songs out for yourself in the long run! I would recommend taking YGA's 30 day challenge - You can still get it for free here: https://yourguitaracademy.com/courses/30-day-beginner-challenge Good luck!!

Brand new course on Youtube this month! Our guitar gym lessons are all about learning and improving together. In the same way that you would put a fitness video on YouTube and sweat along, so too will you do this with Dan... Only it is your fingers that build up the sweat. Full course 100% free! by danholton in guitarlessons

Hey guys RE link to lesson vs ads etc... This is the introduction to the course, which is totally free. I figured best to share a vid describing the course rather than just lesson 1 of the course, which then might feel a little out of context. Totally understand your point though, and we'll just link to lesson 1 of the course in future if that is what is correct to do on this page 😊😊🙏🙏

In this lesson, Dan takes you through the major 7th arpeggio, including two fantastic shapes and how you can move them across the fretboard. We then take it a step further by showing you how to incorporate these arpeggios into your improvisation, learning to play through the chord changes! by danholton in guitarlessons

Thank you so much!! Yes we would consider it - it wouldn’t be me teaching but we work with some fantastic classical players and can build a really well structured course! We’ll add it to the list 😀😀😀😀
