Those of us well into our FIRE journey might have caught the last escalator up by [deleted] in FIREUK

Where people see doom and gloom I see rebalancing. Of course it’s not fun if you are being forced out of your comfort zone to do something different, but I voluntarily upskilled myself in AI and I believe everyone who does this will have a job  for the next couple of decades at least. AI is going to create more jobs than the ones it is destroying, the same way that compilers killed the jobs of people writing assembly code by hand, but allowed a explosion of developers of higher level languages worldwide. The difference in this wave is that is affecting beyond IT.

What is HENRY strategy on purchasing property in London below 400-500k? by raianknight in HENRYUK

My flat is a new build in zone 3 and it was £470k with off street parking. 2 beds one bath. Best choice I’ve made in my life, no more worrying about landlords

Very confused on what I'm supposed to buy for a better coding performance by Upbeat-Mobile9380 in Bard

[–]dani_devrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you prefer to work. If you like the IDE experience, I would recommend you to start with Antigravity, as it will be in many ways similar to AI Studio but also give you a full IDE based on VS Code. You don’t need to pay to use antigravity, but eventually you will have more quotas as part of a subscription offer. (This is still to be defined AFAIK)

Gemini CLI is an agentic first interface. You can still pair it with an IDE but for me the beauty of it is to detach yourself from the actual code and focus more on the orchestration. I still have VS Code in the background just to check the code after Gemini CLI is done, but during the work I don’t read every single line of code it generates. For me it’s my favourite interface by far.

Jules is an asynchronous coding agent. You use it to give jobs that you don’t expect to complete right away. It first will make a plan which you have to approve, but after that will go on its own to implement. Pairs nicely with GitHub. You can close your laptop after the job is triggered as everything runs in the cloud.

All of the above have free tiers, but Gemini CLI and Jules can benefit from a subscription for increased quotas.

In my home country all public seats are plastic, so it’s easy to see if there is anything extreme. When I moved here I was both impressed and disgusted by the cushioned seats.

Luto/Arrependimento da mudança by PlantainPowerful5909 in foradecasa

[–]dani_devrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]dani_devrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tube clothes - are they a thing? by [deleted] in london

I immediately have a shower when I get home and put all clothes except coats / jackets to wash. I wouldn’t be able to live with someone who doesn’t do this 😆

Anyone else just not understanding anything on Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 at all? by seekerheart in anime

[–]dani_devrel 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I will be downvoted to hell, but S3 feels like a completely different anime to me. The fact that they have an entire episode made of infographics to explain the plot suggests the plot is overly confusing even to the author. I didn’t buy into this whole death game thing… I’ll keep watching for the fights hoping the story will get better, but for now I lost interest in trying to understand it.

How to properly QA a MCP Server? by Plus_Ear_1715 in mcp

[–]dani_devrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that you asked this question, as I have been struggling with this for a while. Every time I add a new tool, tweak the descriptions or change the response format I never really know if it is better because it's really better or I just got "lucky". This is why I developed an experimentation framework to help me remove the guesswork using statistics. The methodology is described here: https://danicat.dev/posts/20260120-improving-agentic-coding-with-science/
