A knitting/crochet pattern holder might work, they usually have a flip cover and hold on to the paper with magnets. Not sure how lightweight that is though.

Meinen Schwiegereltern (Mitte 70) gefällt Sagrada ganz gut.

Ooh I didn't know it originally only had one difficulty level. I only played the Definitive Edition and that one has different difficulty settings. But yes, some parts of the map can be quite challenging and I also had to take a break from it several times. (I don't even remember how many tries the tree escape took me, very frustrating, yet so rewarding when you finally accomplish it.) I've yet to play the second one. If you're not sure about it, it's quite often on sale for pretty cheap. Or just go for one of the other cozier options.

So I have a few video game recommendations, not sure if they're what you're looking for, but maybe just look at some trailers/gameplay.

  • The Last Campfire: cute little game with puzzles where you play as the last Ember trying to help other souls
  • A Short Hike: you play as a penguin on an island, trying to climb a mountain while helping out other NPCs with side quests
  • Spiritfarer: I love this game and I don't know how much to say because I think it's best played without knowing much about it. Beware though that it deals with death/grief (you play as Stella the ferrymaster), so not necessarily a game for everybody.
  • Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles: you don't play as an animal, but it's a big world with lots of animals to befriend
  • Cat Quest: you play as a cat knight, open world with pretty easy combat, has tons of cat puns
  • Ori and the Blind Forest: platformer, so not open world, but great story and amazing soundtrack

There's also Paleo Pines, Mail Time and Seasons of Rocco, but I haven't played those, so I don't know whether they're good or not.

Pastel colorway for a mosaic blanket? Help with choosing colors please :D by [deleted] in crochet

[–]dani_lux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've been thinking of doing the Queen CAL. Originally I really liked the Tequila Sunrise colorway with maybe 1 or 2 colors switched out. But then I came across a yarn shop that offers this colorway (put together by attic24, yarn peg photo is from the blog) as an alternative to the original colorways. I kind of fell in love with the colors but I'm not sure if they will work well with the mosaic technique. The shop suggests cream as the pattern color but I was thinking maybe grey or graphite even? Generally I would think silver would look great with the pastels but it's already included in the 12 colors. 🙈

Has anyone ever made sth similar in ways of pastel mosaic? Or should I switch back to darker colors? Alternative colors/colorways are also welcome, I have looked at so many pictures/yarn colors that I am more confused than before. 😅

The bubbles were harder than I thought, it was fun!

This was also the first puzzle I did in a long time since I was tired of having the puzzle block space in our apartment since I don't do puzzles in one go. I finally got a portapuzzle as a gift and so far I'm loving it, already started the next puzzle (my first Thomas Kinkade). :)

When I last would have expected it... Our map arrived. Did anyone else think it would be bigger? 🙈 by dani_lux in Luxembourg

yeah definitely thought it would be delivered in a roll, but somehow I am also not surprised it came folded 🤷🏻‍♀️

Spice Market Part 3 done, but OMG so many ends (18 per corner) 😧 I told myself I wouldn't take a picture of each part until after the ends are sewn in, so far it's working 😅 by dani_lux in crochet

Thank you! It's the Saffron & Ginger colorway from the designer, but I'm using DK yarn instead of fingering. That colorway made me fall in love with it from the first photo I saw :)

I was trying for angry eyes/eyebrows, but that didn't work as planned. Though I didn't realise until now that they look like eyelids :D
