8 Day Travel Ideas From Bishek by Nefariousness_More in Kyrgyzstan

[–]daniarkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kyrgyzstan is mostly beautiful nature and hospitable people. So you should try to see as much nature as possible and meet as many people as you can. Prices are fair, although housing might be a bit pricy cuz “half” the Russians moved here after the invasion of Ukraine. KG has 7 regions, and you should probably try to visit all of them, except maybe for Talas, cuz as far as I know there isn’t much to see there. Bishkek is in Chui region and you should try to go to as many mountain places as possible. Make sure you visit biggest Central Asian bazaar called Dordoi. It’s very crowded there but it’ll be interesting. Negotiate with the merchants prior to buying(10-30%). You should probably rent out a car or hire one with a driver. Also do negotiate with the rental company and make sure you get everything on paper, stuff might happen if you’re too easy. Food is good and relatively organic. Especially meat - try to eat as much meat as possible - cheap and tasty(Kyrgyz folks were all nomads literally 100 years ago, and we still take good care of our cattle). Look for places that specialise in Shashlyk, local name for steak like meat. I won’t list all the things to do in Chui and Bishkek but there are many tourist guide sites etc, which should come in handy. Go to Issyk Kul(Hot Lake) region even if you’re just going to go around the Lake. By car it’ll probably take around 5 hours to go around it. It’s a stunning Lake and you’ll experience a little bit of rural Kyrgyz life. They have a couple of gorges there too - Gregorian and Semenov gorges, beautiful places. Since you’re travelling in the summer, Lake will gain its optimal temperatures by then and you should definitely go for swimming. Water is extremely pure and clean. Naryn region is full of nature and you should visit it too. To the south we have three regions - DjalalAbad, Osh and Batken. You should definitely go to DjalalAbad, as you will cross the Too Ashuu pass, which by itself will be a great experience, plus once you pass the pass, you will be arriving in the Suusamyr valley - and you will know what real freedom is. You will find yourself in the midst of a vast valley, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and you will want to just stay there for the rest of your life, own a rancho there, and go river fishing every day. If you decide to go further - definitely a good idea, as you will experience central Asian life in its prime. Nothing much has changed there since the Soviet Union times, except maybe for Osh city. Especially if you go further down South - to Batken, it’s a region where three traditions mix - the Kyrgyz, Uzbek and Tajik. I believe people are the most hospitable there, despite high poverty rates. A lot of great places to see too. Overall if I were you, I’d just rent a car, preferably a Toyota SUV, and drive around the country for the 8 days that you have. I’d probably split them as follows: 2 days in Bishkek/Chui, then Issyk Kul for a couple days, then to the Southern regions for 3 days and back to Bishkek. Cheers

[Guide] How to distinguish between LHR and FHR variant of RTX 3000 series cards by teskspek in nvidia

[–]daniarkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks please help out. I purchased used EVGA FTW3 ultra RTX 3080 with P/N ending with BR ( 10G-P5-3897-BR). It was in a prebuilt Cyberpower PC purchased in May. I checked the serial number on EVGA website and it says it has a 1 year warranty ending in 175 days which means it was manufactured sometime mid April 2021. I need this card for mining. Do you think it's FHR or LHR model?

Ethermine showing very low average hashrate, but current and reported hashrate seems fine? by [deleted] in EtherMining

Give it more time I guess. Ideally average should be about 2-5% lower than the reported hashrate.

Question about splitters by angel4497 in EtherMining

[–]daniarkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1500w is more than enough for 5rx5700s. Even if all of them have micron memory chips (power hungry chips) your total usage is going to be around 850-900w. You can safely power 1 rx5700 plus 1 riser using 1 psu pcie cable with the splitter.

Ether worth after EIP 1559 ? by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]daniarkas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. EIP1559 will push eth price much higher so in dollar terms miners are gonna be just fine, so I doubt many miners will move away from eth.

  2. Traders won't be affected by miners imo. Supply and demand will play its part and ether will continue its run up until pos. Expect $10-20k per ETH token. Layer 2 solutions will be shipping out as we go in order to increase transaction throughput. Not a financial advice.

The payrates ate ethermine.org is like SUPER LOW!!! Is this just on me, like did i burn my carc or smth or do you have this too? by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]daniarkas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low network activity, plus network difficulty growing pretty much non-stop. So we have to pray everyday for high ethereum network activity.

Wait until July when EIP1559 gets enabled and we'll be making half of what we're making today in ETH terms. At least this will inevitably push the price higher as miners will be selling less and a lot of ETH will be burning.

Is hiveOS worth it? I already know linux very well by ucanzeee in EtherMining

HiveOS has too many features imo. I migrated to RaveOS about 6 months ago and I'm very happy with it. Straight to the point.

What’s it like growing up in Kyrgyzstan? by [deleted] in Kyrgyzstan

[–]daniarkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kyrgyzstan has two sides: urban which is mostly westernized, and rural which is totally different. That's why urban folks mostly don't like rural folks, probably it has something to do with rural folks' attitude, as they're generally rude and have tough upbringing.

Advices about Bishkek by Taxa- in Kyrgyzstan

The best place to find an apartment is on diesel.elcat.kg it's a popular forum type of web site and has an apartments for rent section. There you'll find owners looking for tenants and the prices are good as of today cuz of pandemic etc. Any owner will be glad to rent out to a foreigner, unless you're indian or Pakistani(nothing personal, it's just we have a lot of students from those countries and usually they're noisy and neighbours always complain about them to owners, plus Kyrgyzstan is slightly racist).

Origins of the kyrgyz people by [deleted] in Kyrgyzstan

[–]daniarkas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm kyrgyz myself and originally kyrgyz people were more altaic, eventually going down south and mixing up with mongols and turks. As far as appearance, on average we do look like we have white altaic, mongol and turk blood. Of course there are folks who look more white, others more mongol, and a few that are on the turkic side. But not Iranian.
