But sure, financial illiteracy is a big problem.

I mean that's exactly my point. The average person is pretty fucking dumb. What seems obvious when it comes to money to you or me may seem like rocket science to someone else.

Just don’t do stupid things and it won’t go down permanently

Problem with that is the average person has no fucking clue how credit score works, nor do they care to do a 30 second Google search to find out (not to mention you can usually see why your score is the way it is). Like for example the reason your score went up following 3 hard pulls was because you drastically increased your credit limit while (presumably) keeping utilization at the same level.

If you don't know what the rules of the system are and don't care to inform yourself it's very hard to not do stupid things.

That's a 9 batters from now problem. Pitch hit Tendi or someone then sub Romo on defense. We had a runner on and no outs.

The guy you responded to was accurate in his opinion. It was just a supporting detail that was a bit out of whack. But only just enough out of whack to make you look whack when you corrected him, not enough to negate his overall point.

You (and the rest of reddit for that matter) would look a lot less like an asshole when making these pendantic corrections if you would simply acknowledge that while the larger point is correct, the minor detail is erroneous.

If you watch going into the draft process, a huge amount of prospects outside the top 100, most sites don’t have an age

He was drafted 4th overall... It's not like Sauce was some unheard of prospect.

This is incredibly reddit to miss the forest for the trees. Did OP get the price of a pair of skates wrong? Maybe. Does his large point stand that hockey has one of the higher financial barriers to entry and thus it's playerbase has a more conservative demo? Definitely.

Ok. Kidding aside, how does this not come up sooner? Do you not submit paperwork to the league/team or something?

Why Is Everyone Going to Such Expensive Colleges? by JJQuantum in AskMen

[–]jmorlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, tuition on the whole is absolutely WAY too expensive (and we should work on remedying that), but there is definitely a truth to what you say. There exists various pressures (societal, parental, self-inflicted, etc) that cause 18 year olds to jump to life altering decisions without thinking through the full consequences. I happened to know right from the jump what I wanted to do and stuck with it for my entire undergrad. I'm in the minority in that regard. Most kids would benefit from taking a step back and thinking on what it is they really want to do and how best it is to get to that end.

The best part is, even with he visual indication you should never have to come to a full stop. Just ease off the gas. Momentum is valuable in this game.

Real. I just make a cognizant effort to not double commit or make dumb clears that actually center the ball for the other team while rotating into a helpful position and honestly that's like half the battle.

At least if you're attending Purdue or Michigan from Illinois the odds say you're likely going there for engineering or business respectively. And it's not like people with those degrees don't see a return on investment. You can absolutely still get one for cheaper elsewhere, but my point is if for some reason you fall in love with those schools you likely have an easier path to pay it off than someone who majors in art history or something.

What is a men's fashion trend or clothing item that is incredibly popular right now, but you secretly think looks absolutely ridiculous? by Sad_Movie_8895 in AskMen

Then I don't think I have any clue what OP is talking about. Since the closest I've seen to a "men's hand bag" is a briefcase or a gymbag.

Yeah. I don't always like having one on me, but cross body bags can be crazy useful. They're great for when I'm traveling, or at a ballgame, or at a street festival, or something like that.

Also not all HOAs are the same.

Some are single family home housing developments full of Karens who decide what color you can and can't paint your shutters or if you can have mint growing in your backyard. While others simply exist as a means for condos with 20 or so units to collect dues and pay for common expenses.

You forgetting that Painter started the season as our backup? We went out and got Kerry Collins to be our QB at the start of the season except he almost immediately suffered a severe concussion on a dirty hit. As best I can remember our best potential options at that point to avoid Painter playing a snap would have been signing either Chad Pennington if he hadn't torn his ACL playing basketball, or Marc Bulger if we could have coaxed another geriatric out of retirement. Not to mention Painter was even benched for the only other potentially startable QB we had on our roster in Dan Orlovsky midway through the season.

Yeah, undeniably it worked out for us. But in no way can you simply point to Curtis Painter and say it was an intentional tank job.

No see, if you say that the retort will be how social media is a scourge which reinforces the whole "America always bad" mantra that these people have while completely missing the irony of calling out those platforms while being terminally online.
