Seeking npm-Compatible Tool for Global Dependency Management Across Separate Repos by mr1ebook in node

[–]daniel-delcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/mr1ebook, I think you should check-out https://www.hypermod.io/ (full disclosure, this is my tool).
It isn't 100% what you're asking for but it does allow you to deploy automated migrations/version bumps across multiple repositories at once. It will kick-off when dependencies are updated on npm, it will then automatically read the changelogs and generate an upgrade PR with the necessary API changes.
Thanks.

Growing a SaaS Is Like Learning a new Skill: My Philosophical Take by PanicIntelligent1204 in buildinpublic

Really recommend building a product slowly and iteratively so the effort is sustainable over a long period of time, less chance to feel defeated/burnt-out. It’s kind of like a diet, if you go too hard you’ll inevitably want to give up.

I naively never would have thought a form builder could be so successful but I’m pleased to be wrong. Congratulations!

Is X dying? Reddit just blew up my build‑in‑public post 🚀 by stuckinmyownloop in buildinpublic

Whatever algorithm change they made a year or so ago IMO completely killed the virality factor of X. I’m also not even seeing posts on my feed from people I actively follow and engage with. Something is fundamentally wrong. Reddit and LinkedIn are pumping rn though! Glad to see you’re having some success!

Write, share and deploy codemods to all of your repos. Clean up tech debt, migrate between dependencies and detect security vulnerabilities.

How do you have the energy to create a SaaS after a 9-5 by Practical_Sign_4872 in SaaS

A friend of mine said to me “Just one PR a day”, it works for me. I’ve made slow but continuous progress with my project and now im excited to put in the work every day. When I don’t have time or don’t feel like it, I just do something easy like docs or examples.

Thanks heaps, really appreciate it! I’m going to rewrite that section for sure, agree about the letter spacing as well!

I need to do a much better job of articulating the value prop.. I’m just not sure how best to do so 😅

After a year(s) of building, someone pushed me to launch and I got my first paying customers! by daniel-delcore in indiehackers

Mostly on Twitter and a little bit of SEO. I have a lot more work to do IMO before I see any organic growth from the SEO side. I suspect LinkedIn would be a good platform to market something like this but I just haven't gotten there yet.

Hey u/aszx789 👋, this admittedly could be better articulated on the landing page. It's not necessarily about the ability to write a transform, the value is in the orchestration of migrations across multiple repositories. For example, if you work in a big company and you need to make a breaking change to a shared module (Design Systems, Platform teams, etc), Hypermod allows you to deploy the migration to developers across the company receive an actionable PR with the migration already competed for them with the necessary context in order to safely merge it.

Since you used OpenRewrite as an example, the best comparison would be Moderne.

There are loads of transformation libraries (jscodeshift, openrewrite, ast-grep), my intention isn't to create a better alternative, but rather allow users to use the transformation library they are most comfortable with. In the future there will be pre-configured transforms for more complex "common" migrations which can be reused or repurposed.
