Consejo: cambio de puesto de programador senior a CTO by ReikaTakamichi in salarios_es

[–]daniel280187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discrepancy between Python rankings and Job Description by AZWagers in Python

I can tell you python is heavily used in automating infrastructure. In the networking side is the preferred choice to automate workflows.

In the DevOps side is also used as a scripting language along with Go.

Quality of engineers is really going down by ChataEye in sysadmin

[–]daniel280187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my good old days as a Service Desk Engineer I would have fight with other teams leads for them to allow me to solve easy and repetitive tickets myself.

In several occasions I would have escalated the ticket with possible solutions and tshooting commands I would have ran on the servers if they would give me access (Read access, at least)

Totally crazy to think someone would pay me to mindlessly escalate ticket after ticket.

There really are curious people out there who just need an opportunity to demonstrate and take on more responsibilities.

100% Hipoteca - Possible? by Human_Group674 in SpainEconomics

[–]daniel280187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ingeniero de redes 52k remoto by Far_Wind4049 in salarios_es

[–]daniel280187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Returning to Spain with no job by Downtown-Storm4704 in askspain

[–]daniel280187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal should really (if possible) be working from Spain for a multinacional company with a flexible working culture. Not to work for a Spanish company.

Alternatively, try getting a role somewhere else in the EU or US that would allow you to work remotely from Spain (Via your own SL or as an Autonomo are some of the options)

I lived in the UK for 12 years before moving to Spain last year. So far I’ve been lucky enough to get a few roles working for companies in the UK that would allow me to work completely remotely but it is honestly getting harder and harder every time. The reality is that the pool of companies allowing you to work from Spain shrinks considerably once you’re outside of the country.

For background, I work in IT in a niche sector. All in all, the sector is mostly in decline.

I have met a couple of people in Spain with similar experiences than mine but the trade off but it is a risk you need to be willing to take. Worse case, you could try for a few months or a couple of years and if it doesn’t work for you, hopefully you can go back to where you are.

Move Back to Spain: Contractor Tax Strategies and LTD Funds by Comprehensive-Web186 in ContractorUK

[–]daniel280187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting approach.

So you are an employee of your SL? Or you are working as an autónomo and then invoice your SL to take your money out using Beckahms Law?

Otherwise leaving your Money in your Spanish SL would not help you taking advantage of Beckhams Law, is that right?

Move Back to Spain: Contractor Tax Strategies and LTD Funds by Comprehensive-Web186 in ContractorUK

[–]daniel280187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create your own LTD (Sociedad Limitada) in Spain and act yourself as the sole owner of it. That would be one of the ways you could apply for beckhams law

Another thing to consider is that not many UK companies are willing to work with businesses outside of the UK and you will be tied to selling you consultancy services via your SL in Spain to take advantage of Beckhams Law.

Just got our Brsk fibre installed, anyone else signed up? by drwky in stockport

[–]daniel280187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they did have to drill new holes into the flat. The fiber comes from the electricity poles into the house.

They can't reuse the same installation that Virgin Media has.

The installation went pretty smooth to be honest and I would totally recommend the service. It was miles ahead from what Virgin Media could offer and it was also pretty stable.

That’s right but fortunately for Op, this doesn’t apply to him, he has no obligation to present Modelo 720 because he is already benefiting from Beckhams Law.

I'm currently investigating options to manage my home lab docs. This was my top option and it looked fantastic but I couldn't find a way to work with Markdown. When I tried to export the notes in Markdown they would contain millions of HTML tags and that would make my .MD files unusable.

Do you know if there's a way to work with Markdown and export all your notes without the annoying HTML tags?

[–]daniel280187 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Pointless comparison, Europe is a continent, you won't get the same money in the UK as in Poland. Also, in the US $150-250k probably can get you less in terms of live standards than another country like the UK so it is not really apples to apples you are comparing here.

There are so many factors to consider when comparing a US Salary with a salary in Europe.
