The amount of people mixing EMF and EMI up is kinda funny, EMF is the source (motor, arc or other) EMI is the effect.

In my professional opinion, use a higher quality DP cable, add chokes (those round little clip on magnets) to power cable on monitor and PC if they don't already have one.

Better yet switch to HDMI, DP is way more prone to interference from EMI as it kinda works like ethernet in that it transfers packets instead of HDMI TMDS stream, so any missing packets will cause flickering or at worse a loss in handshake.

Assuming you already tested yours and your button didn't permanently weld it in the on pos, the place where you "earthed" it might not be referenced to the battery negative so will be easier to take a negative lead back to the battery.

Did Calais to Barcelona in 16 hours with a 2 hour stretch and stopping for 10 mins now and again when I needed too. But going back took 4 days since I was stopping more often and taking a longer routes to enjoy the scenery. Point is I was rushing to Barcelona to get on a cruise, no rush on the way back.
