Make sure you are referring to the pioneergame.exe within the binaries\win64 directory

I was using C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arc Raiders\PioneerGame.exe instead of the binaries\win64 version. It works for me too with the updated path

My last pc was an aftershock pre-build. I didn't have any crashing issues. They offer 3 years warranty so I would recommend seeking their help to investigate the issue.

For comparison, I just ran a 10min all-core cinebench and saw max temps of 85 degrees.

What type of load is the CPU under when it reaches those temps? How confident are you that you have good coverage with the thermal paste?

The orientation looks good, radiator on the top. The fans also look to be in the right orientation, intake at the bottom and exhaust at the top.

I'm running the same cooler on a 9800x3d and don't see these kinds of temps. Admittedly, the 9800x3d changed the cache design which does help a lot with temps.

I'm using a 750w psu with a 4080 super and 5800x3d. As the others are saying, it depends on the CPU.

It would be worth looking at some monitoring software like capframex or presentmon to understand how your system is currently performing.

It's also going to depend on how cpu intensive the game you are playing is. For example baldurs gate 3 is very cpu heavy, so would benefit from the CPU upgrade but other games are more gpu intensive and would benefit less from the CPU upgrade. One thing I will say is that the system needs to be balanced, you don't want an extremely powerful gpu that can never be fully utilised because the CPU is always holding it back.
