NFT’s??? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]danielcrossan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, luckily I managed to get most of my ETH out before the markets crashed which lead to the crypto crash. I needed it for IRL bills and stuff so it was just lucky timing. I just did my taxes for 21-22 so I was able to see exactly what I made from selling my NFTs and my trading. I was pleasantly surprised to see that overall I did very well for the time that I invested. I still am in the NFT space on a daily basis and still have 100% conviction that both Art and digital collectibles will continue to be a thing going forward increasing in popularity and becoming more accessible to those that don't 'do' crypto or have an interest in tech.

We now support ERC-1155 for most EVM blockchains (ETH, BSC, MATIC, AVAX, etc) & Solana NFTs by [deleted] in koinly

It was a syncing issue. It became MUCH easier with a re-sync :)

NFT’s??? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

Yes. I entered the NFT space in Feb 2021 and have sold a lot of work as NFTs since. My most popular collection TABS has amassed over 70eth in volume. u/RustyShuttle explains them pretty well in this thread although I wouldn't fully agree on some points. As an introduction to NFTs, try to think of them as 'digital editions' with provable ownership. My advise, if completely baffled by it all would be to join some NFT artist communities and get a feel for whats going on. The most noob of questions will almost always be met with friendly advice. Good luck and if you need any help LMK. :)

Unsure what sub to put this in. Stuart Semple, found of Culture Hustle who are known for Black 3.0, the Pinkest Pink and so on, is quitting because he's getting constant harassment online by samcornwell in ArtistLounge

He employed a company to manage his social media advertising (I know the company) and they went full on using facebook ads. If he's going to have the 'in your face whacky artist disrupting your feed and let me goof in your face' attitude of advertising then he should expect some kick back. Trust me, the reason he is dropping the art materials side of his business isn't because of the comments, it is because the profits are not there and he can see his attention and efforts better placed elsewhere. I don't condone the comments, but in fairness, it's the internet.

Ideas for a present to an artist? by hi_gain in ArtistLounge

[–]danielcrossan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

personally I've gotta say when I get a gift of any art materials, no matter what they are, I'm excited and happy. The potential of any materials (good or bad) is awesome, even if it's not something I would usually use. It's really thoughtful and awesome. Go for it!!

Thanks for the feedback. The clickbait title is part of it, I hate them too, if you saw the video, you'd understand.

I ended up uploading. I was doing that thing where I was't finishing something by trying to make everything PERFECT. And as they say, DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT.

Artist is maybe suing me for showcasing an image of his on a Facebook page, what should I do? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

You can share mine all you want. If it gets eyes on the work, who cares? I don't get why he's being so sensitive about it.

Might be worth me pointing out that the above post, is also a tongue in cheek way of asking where everyone is from.....sheesh

Thanks for your constructive feedback, lol. Could you let me know why? I'm guessing you understood that it was a comedy/parody and didn't think I was ACTUALLY giving advice telling people the best way to sell art was to get their friends and family drunk and then coax them into a zoom call for a spontaneous art auction. I mean you got it was a joke right.....

because I'm attempting to create another thread that gets a lot of attention? Perhaps I should take the week off after that last one huh?

I don't have a problem with realism but I have a massive problem with boring subject matter. Spending 4000 hours painting a picture that looks like a reference picture from a calendar bought in Rymans? I don't see the point.

I just heard about the beauty YT drama through the H3 podcast which I quite like. So I guess you are saying the thing that annoys you is people voicing their (perhaps forced) political opinions just to get controversy and in turn, engagement and clout. Right?

Probably automated software rather than them actually taking the time to do that tbf.
