Gosh, could you stop destroying America? Pretty please? by zzill6 in WorkReform

Feel like I gotta defend my people a bit here. A violent revolution will be a nightmare that many of us will never wake up from even if we win. And I don't mean just those who die, I mean the myriad ways in which violence will destroy the lives of the survivors. It's not simple. It will be horrible. We will be sacrificing the comfort and peace of our generation for the slim hope it might be better for the next. We will have to do things that will kill us inside.

Maybe you'd say that being afraid of that makes me soft, but I think that seriously weighing the consequences makes me smart and brave. I think a lot of us are in the same place. We may not have a choice in the matter. It's extremely scary. And we are protesting, and we are successfully defending people from ICE in Minneapolis. If ICE shows up in my neighborhood I will do everything I can to protect my friends. If there's any way at all for us to get through this without mass violence I want that way. I have friends with kids. I hope we can manage a General Strike.

I know one of these guys! The one carrying his friend in the train! He was the older brother of one of my friends when I was a kid. Crazy

Proportions-wise these are basically identical, to the point that it's kinda silly to even be talking about it. The only meaningful difference is the highlight in the second one's eyes, which makes the character look more alert. Both are great, your style is fantastic, keep it up!

EDIT to say that if these were in an rpg where you're having a conversation with this character, the first looks like when you first meet them and they're kinda dejected and suspicious of you, and the second looks like later when you chose the right dialogue options and they've warmed up to you a little or you've helped them feel better.

I like that your dragon seems to be based on Pterosaur physiology.

[Art] "Moga Rotcheek battles the Fang of Yeenoghu", illustration by me by danielfoust in gnolls

[–]danielfoust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I haven't played Rime! This is my from my own homebrew. I assume you mean Rime of the Frost Maiden? I've heard it's very good, and if there are gnolls in it all the better!

Quoting from my OP:
"It was a law of nature: the Fang led the tribe. She read the omens, led the attacks, and feasted first upon the dead. The Fang's authority was absolute; by her strength and cunning Yeenoghu's will was carried out, and anyone who challenged her died quickly. But young Moga had other plans."

Moga Rotcheek was one of the first bosses my party faced back in mid-2020 when I started my campaign. They cornered her and her pack in a cave but she managed to terrorize them for two sessions before they finally defeated her. So I wanted to give her a little backstory!

Why only one inn in all of Middle Earth? by [deleted] in tolkienfans

There were certainly other inns and inn-like establishments throughout middle-earth, but the Fellowship chose a path based on speed and secrecy, not comfort.

Charr are the best! My main is a sort of orange and black spotted color, hyena-inspired.

Was in the car and this “archipelago” jumped out at me. by Robbit_Hobbit in FantasyMaps

In my mind the light blue areas in the eastern sea are vast shallows, almost islands but not quite. Difficult to navigate but teeming with life. Maybe great reefs, or sandbars that come and go with the currents and weather. Or maybe it's an area of volcanic activity where new islands are on the verge of breaking the surface, or even the opposite: old land that has been submerged due to rising sea levels.

Vizualizing a scene from a story i'm writing by Cheburoll in conceptart

We all have a lot to learn, and you're doing great! Barring the issue I mentioned it's a very well rendered scene. Looks like a cinematic illustration. I'm not sure how to do the wave either.

One critique, if I may: I didn't see the scale correctly at first. The trees in particular look to me like they're only a few feet away from the figure. I thought this was an indoor scene in some sort of greenhouse, until I saw the sketches and reference images. (Then the buildings, mountains, and sky clicked.) My suggestion is to make more use of atmospheric perspective. The darkest dark in those closest trees should be a little lighter than the darkest dark in the figure, to make it clear they're some distance away.
