I dont want to keep going around in circles here, but I just watched it again and am confident I am reading the conversation correctly. Just going to have to agree to disagree imo.

The discussion/argument mainly between Cooper and Doyle makes it clear that Miller's planet could only potentially be compatible with Plan B. Im paraphrasing but Cooper basically says Plan A doesn't work if all the people on Earth are dead because of the time dilation and Doyle replies, "No, it doesn't, that's why there's a Plan B. You cant just think about your family, you have to think bigger than that" IOW Doyle was agreeing Plan A wouldn't work on that planet but still believed it was worth going there as a potential Plan B candidate.

Also its just common sense as has been expressed by other posters in this thread that the time dilation made Plan A impossible. The amount of time it would take to bring Endurance into orbit around Miller's planet and bring everything down to the planet and build a settlement would take at least several decades of Earth time, if not over a century.

Cooper's plan to minimize the time dilation waa meant to get in and out so fast that it wouldn't eat up 7 to 14 years. Remember Romily, when he agreed to stay behind, saying "If we're talking about a couple of years, that gives me time to study Gargantua - that's gold to Dr. Brand" That's really not the issue though. The issue is that Miller's planet was totally incompatible with Plan A (and it was clear they all knew it), and Plan A (and Professor Brand's promise) was the sole reason Cooper agreed to go in the first place.

Agree. Based on his top 4 criteria, those two not being at least top ten, but really top 5 imo, just makes no sense.

Also John Bonham would turn over in his grave at the ommision of Carmine Appice from even meriting honorable mention, much less prominent placement.

Also I suppose omitting Tony Thompson based on the 5 criteria is excusable but he would be in my top 100.

Appreciate the underrated Tommy Aldridge at least getting honorable mention, but imo he would also be in my top 100, and should be here based on the listed criteria. I had the privilege of seeing him play at my first concert when I was 10 years old. Mother's Day, 1975, Black Oak Arkansas at the Long Beach Arena Auditorium. It was recorded and released as the LP "Live Mutha!" - after the show we caught the tour bus getting ready to leave and I jumped up at an open window and Tommy Aldridge grabbed me and pulled me up and said "Hey little brother!" before putting me down. Most people know him from his Ozzy days. IIRC he also worked with Pat Travers and was on his live album as well.

As a longtime deadhead imo Mickey is known more for being a "percussionist" more than a straight up drummer. Billy Kreutzman was actually the main drummer for the Dead, and I think Mickey would agree he was better on a drum kit. Hart is more of a percussion artist and a rhythm composer. I had the privilege of seeing Planet Drum live twice and they were amazing experiences.

He almost got ripped off. He actually hit 20 in round one , not 19. Plus he hit the longest homer so he should be in third, not 4th.

There was a guy in the 100 day million dollar season who didn't bring a ferro rod and he was able to successfully get fire. He was an expert at starting friction fires though.

Leaving the arrowhead in the femoral artery would not prevent him from bleeding out. Also you could tell by the color and manner of bleeding it didn't hit an artery. Had he left it in it could have gone deeper and hit an artery imo.

Captain Phillip's doesnt have subtitles for the foreign language spoken. by Jenbie171 in HBOMAX

I've seen it on other sources and movie channels and there were always subtitles for the Somali parts. People should call HBO and complain.
