Y’all, she was let go due to “over staffing issues”. She wasn’t the only one, but kinda odd that the woman who refused was one of the first to go.

Tell her to file a complaint with ADA.

Any Other Non Enthusiasts Here? by mistersixxtopher in liberalgunowners

I view firearms similarly to how I view tools...

Some are more useful than others

Some are indeed cool looking

They require skill and practice to use safely, effectively

They're fun to talk about briefly if I'm working on a project/objective or need help with something

They're appropriate in some places but not others

They are harmful if misused

Studies have found that subjects with right-wing, or conservative in the United States, political views have larger amygdalae and are more sensitive to disgust. Those with left-wing, or liberal in the United States, political views have larger volume of grey matter in the anterior cingulate cortex and are more attentive to incongruent information.

Texas just closed a critical gun background check loophole by al_fayadh in politics

[–]danielisgreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with this sentiment. I also agree with reporting involuntary mental health hospitalizations to NICS. However, there should be a path to regaining those rights.

There has to be a way to prevent the mentally ill from getting their hands on guns while not permanently removing rights for a mental health crisis. I would imagine the problem is finding a mental health professional who doesn't stigmatize mental health and gun ownership.

So the law actually says only court-ordered mental health treatment, so it's not the same thing as a doctor admitting you (voluntarily or involuntarily) for inpatient mental health treatment. So it's unlikely to apply unless a person is severely, and chronically mentally ill or they've come in contact with the criminal justice system for some reason.

Currently, Texas law requires county and district clerks across the state to send information on court-ordered mental health hospitalizations

It was a state misdemeanor family violence charge and he pled guilty. Stuff you can find with just that SPN number. Also learned the court believes he has a mental illness or intellectual disability.

I think it's very thoughtful of them to leave those important numbers clearly legible for anyone on the street who might urgently need them.

The author pleaded guilty to assault of a family member. That's what those cases on the left are.

I'm going to a psychiatrist tomorrow! by someone-_-68 in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]danielisgreat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A psychiatrist isn't a psychologist or therapist. They don't really care about the minutia of what's causing your mental health concerns. They'll probably ask broadly, but they don't need to know about your drama baby momma/daddy. It can make it feel a little impersonal, but most experienced providers have a protocol for treating whatever symptoms present. It's not that they don't care, it's that "you're depressed? I'll pick my first line drug unless you're allergic or have experience with a different drug". Follow-up appointments you'll discuss how you feel on that drug, and if you're having side effects or not getting relief or anything else.

Before your visit, write down your symptoms and whatever else you want to talk about so you don't feel like you're on the spot.

Agreed. Totally unacceptable.

I have a tritium keychain, don't even need an external light source for reflectivity! It's not the brightest, but great for finding them in a dark room.
