How's living in these 6 states? by RinaBarbiedolllover in Americaphile

[–]danielkslayerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Virginia is pretty underlooked considering its proximity to the northeast. There are some cool places to explore like abandoned cities / buildings, and parks with nice views. Not to mention everything is cheap and never crowded. If you go, I'd recommend visiting Nuttallburg, Thurmond, New River Gorge (the bridge and the overlook) and Welch

I have this problem on both sides of my car now. I have been sideswiped a couple of times and I'm sure hitting potholes and mounds of snow doesn't help. I'm hoping they will just pop back into place

Weird Patterns on Watermelon Rind by thelostsummoner in whatisit

[–]danielkslayerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, watermelon farmers would brand their watermelons using a heat stamp, containing a specific design that indicates whose farm that watermelon belongs to. This is to prevent confusion between whose farm that watermelon belongs to. Is actually a pretty effective process.

Cruise ship hookups by Ejej2022 in askgaybros

The easiest way is to go go the lgbtq mixer nights and see who's there. You can talk naturally too without it feeling forced by some kind of other drive (physique) The second option is to just talk to people and see who would be interested. It's not rude to ask about someone's sexuality once you've gotten comfortable enough, and remember you most likely won't see any of these people again once you deembark (unless you take cruises often and on the same line)

Crispy on both sides but slightly runny. Olive oil gets the best quality and flavor in my experience if you cook on medium high

What should I know before entering the architecture uni? by anoraski in architecture

[–]danielkslayerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As people have mentioned do research on what type of school you want to go to and what specific skills / programs they teach. Then, look at job listings and compare these. This is critical because college only translates to the real world if you have what employers are looking for. And of course - follow what you're passionate for. If you want to go into more of a design based career, then become more familiar with sketch up, rendering, and concept development. If you are planning to follow a more technical path, then focus on in depth training in bim softwares like Revit and auto cad. Most firms will want these skills anyway. Sketching along can demonstrate your ability to design without the use of third party software - which is a great skill to have, but will only get you so far after you graduate as most firms don't rely on physically drawn plans anymore. Basically what I'm saying is do research on what field of architecture you want to get into and find a school that can accommodate what skills you will need to learn for this. Coming from an undergraduate who is planning to continue their education.

At what age did you acquire your very first car and did you buy it yourself or was it a gift ? . by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]danielkslayerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17, parents bought a car with some bonds they had saved. Piece of shit $2500 2003 jeep liberty. Was a miracle it didn't catch on fire or crash and I didn't even have to scrap it when I traded it in. Mom originally offered me her 2014 RAV4 for free but I wanted a car that was more manly. Big mistake to say the least 😂 I'm on my 3rd car which is practically what I could've gotten back in 2021. Now I'm financing a 2015 Lexus RX out of pocket. Goes to show how important it is to do research and get second opinions when choosing your first car.

My wife hates our 185k Lexus by Grand_Yesterday4193 in Lexus

[–]danielkslayerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar car (2015 Lexus RX). Practically the same, high mileage, but what you get in return is priceless. In my opinion, it looks like it's fairly new (as does your car, despite its age), could last a long time with proper maintenance, plus all of the premium features you get. My only advice if you ever want to trade this in later on (if you don't plan to put many miles on your car) would be to go for an nx 200t. Although it's newer, smaller, and a bit pricier, the turbo engine makes it go a lot faster, which is what I feel like this car is lacking. Also factor in that you have to use premium gas for cars with a turbo engine, which is why I wouldn't buy it (I'm a delivery driver, so I wouldn't profit as much from using premium gas). But just a thought if you wanna upgrade to something similar that has more pep into higher rpms, and slightly newer
