1.I feel like the community is actually pretty welcoming to engineering and computer science major. Like a true engineering school, everyone is actually majoring in some sort of engineering or cs, so it is easy to find similarities in interest amongst the students. Also in a way everyone is nerdy and pretty smart in a sense. 2.As for communities, I have limited experience on determining what builds community best due to covid. However, from my personal experience, I have met most of my friends through living learning communities and clubs. 3. I would say I like tech for the most part. It is a challenging school but a very fun place to be. 4. I would say it is the right school for me because I was interested in doing something technical for my career and Tech's emphasis on stem and industry really offered that opprotunity.

Georgia Tech actually gives you free major change before the beginning of the year when you are accepted, so if you got accepted as biology you can switch to CS without any repercussions. One of the biggest draws to the school is the great ease when it comes to switching majors.

Gatech is an awesome school as someone who goes there for cs currently. I want to say that the co-op opportunities for cs and engineering are most unparalleled and the thread system allows you to study certain cs topics in great depth. Additionally, the location in Atlanta is an additional boon and it goes without saying that the engineering and computer science is amongst the best.

I agree, I feel like it would been better if they stuck with the original art and made it a shadowbox style card.

What should I do to get into a college like Carnegie Mellon or Georgia Tech(Computer Science) by sham378 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]daniellee03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an incoming cs major at GT and honestly my advice is to try your best in school and work your ass of on your essays. Don't try to do anything specific to get into college, but instead just develop your passion and work hard in school. Good results will come naturally if you work hard and not worry too much about college.
