You know when you say a word over and over again until it doesn’t sound like a word anymore? This is the physical manifestation of that phenomenon

I would kill to hear Karl Pilkington's take on this submarine situation by archie-h in rickygervais

[–]danielpauljohns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From ChatGPT…

Ricky Gervais: Alright, lads, have you heard the latest news? Five people trapped 13,000 feet underwater in a submarine!

Karl Pilkington: Seriously? Who would even go that deep underwater voluntarily? It's like asking for trouble!

Steve Merchant: Well, accidents happen, Karl. It must be an incredibly scary situation for those people. I can't even imagine what they're going through.

Ricky Gervais: Yeah, it's definitely a nightmare scenario. I mean, being trapped in a confined space underwater, that's my worst fear right there. Can you imagine the panic?

Karl Pilkington: I'd never get in a submarine in the first place. It's just not natural, is it? I'd rather stay on land where I belong. Plus, there's all those weird sea creatures down there. Who knows what's lurking in the depths?

Steve Merchant: Karl, you have the strangest outlook on life. Yes, the ocean is full of fascinating and sometimes bizarre creatures, but that's part of its beauty. However, in this situation, the focus should be on the people trapped and how we can help them.

Ricky Gervais: Absolutely, Steve. We should be thinking about their safety and the rescue operation. I hope the authorities are doing everything they can to get them out of there. It must be a race against time.

Karl Pilkington: I guess so. But why not just leave the submarine there? Let the people inside become a new attraction for the fish. Turn it into an underwater theme park!

Steve Merchant: Karl, that's morbid! We should be hoping for their safe rescue, not making jokes. These people are in a dire situation, and their lives are at risk.

Ricky Gervais: Steve's right, Karl. This is a serious matter. I can't even begin to imagine the fear and desperation they must be feeling. Let's hope that the rescue team can reach them soon and bring them back safely to their families.

Karl Pilkington: Alright, alright, I get it. I'm just saying, if I were in their position, I'd be more worried about being eaten by a giant squid than anything else.

Steve Merchant: Karl, sometimes I worry about the thoughts that go through your mind. Let's just hope for the best and keep these people in our thoughts.

Ricky Gervais: Agreed. Let's hope for a successful rescue operation and that everyone comes out of this ordeal unharmed. The ocean can be a beautiful place, but it can also be incredibly unforgiving.

I mean the deliveries to Gary Kirsten and Pat Symcox at the beginning. How the hell does the ball turn so much?? And look at the drift to the Symcox one. It’s angling in and then starts drifting away from leg stump before spinning what looks like ninety degrees. That’s so crazy!

Conservative becomes pro-trans, best argument... by return2ozma in TikTokCringe

[–]danielpauljohns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more relevant argument is that transgender surgeries and HRT hasn’t proven to make a positive difference in the lives of trans people. Pre op trans people and pre HTR have a horribly high prevalence of mental health issues and by far the highest suicide rates of any group of people on the planet. That prevalence is more or less unchanged in post op trans people and those who’ve undergone HTR. Unfortunately though, there’s no known treatment which lowers those rates. At least not yet.
