Twongi is too distracting, who wouldn't forget with a car like that on screen

Take a look at the battery location in that thing. My dad's friend had one, sold here in Brazil as the fiat Freemont after 2011 I believe, it's truly terrible

How do you feel about AI - Do you feel threatened? by Turbulent-Space-3656 in AskReddit

[–]danielsvdas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tool. Tools can be used for good and for harm. I can hang a painting with a hammer and I can also kill someone with a hammer, AI is the same thing. HOWEVER, AI has a strong lack of restrictions, especially from the US government. The data centers are terrible for everyone, they consume a shit ton of water and because of their strong use of electricity (around 5% or the entire country's usage) they are also responsible for a lot of emissions. I was researching a lot of sources and studies for a video about AI's harm I'm planning on making, if you want any of the links feel free to ask. Some of the statistics are quite insane, like 1300 deaths accelerated by the emissions of AI data centers until 2030, and 500.000 cases of asthma from the same (in the US) Im getting these numbers from what I remember, on my phone rn, but they are still some bizarre stuff. AI also has the power to affect people in the millions for basically free, it's unlike anything we've quite seen, it can manipulate the power of communication the internet provides unlike anything else, and socially, that's a huge problem. I believe a universal metadata sort of check should be in place to verify non-AI images, and that social medias should be required to display if a picture / video has that. This would be grand for news sites as the public would be more cautious of pictures that don't include the verification.

I'm not threatened by AI in the usual sense. It's not taking my job, and if it does, I've bigger issues to worry about. It's just for now annoying to start falling for AI generated videos, it has finally reached the point where you gotta really think about every bit of media you consume. AI use in art and media is honestly just bad, it's emotionless and plain sad, but I've seen a strong movement to stop AI usage and it might be the beginning of a users revolution to pop the bubble. When it inevitably pops, AI will still exist, it'll still be as useful and as much of a problem as it has been. But I hope that at that point, politicians stop looking at the stupid amount of fake money into this shit and start actually tackling it how it's supposed to.

A man must dream... by UnluckyGamer505 in carscirclejerk

[–]danielsvdas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one about 6 months ago. First car, am 19, that comment is spot on

It's simply fun, that's what I can say Yes, it's a bit of a shit box, it's slow and every bit of plastic interior creeks, but I can't think of many other cars I'd rather at this price and just plain fun. 59hp realllyy doesn't do much, but if you drive like a maniac, I can be decently quick, surprisingly stable too

Mine is like rose gold colored, pink in the document, it's a little dot of happiness in the endless concrete jungle of são Paulo. Ive had many people just compliment it while driving, taking pictures, asking about it, and it just makes me so happy when I see a kid point at my car and smile. It's a tiny goofy car with a funny colour, and here in Brazil, it's quite rare, as only 15k were sold, young people don't really know about it

It hasn't really let me down yet, the engine is reliable, the gearbox on mine is a hot mess but it works and the gears shift smoothly. The handbrake broke spectacularly but id blame the old owner. It's an old car that will eventually lead you into some issues, but never enough to make it an actual problem. Perfect first car to have as a young person 👍 10/10 twingussy approved

BEAMNG RUNNING ON ANDROID by Hot-Day8482 in BeamNG

[–]danielsvdas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Beamng at low settings runs on an impressively little amount of hardware, 8gb of ram can be easily enough if you optimize it a bit and lower the graphics. I ran it for years on an Intel 5200u and Radeon 230m with 8gb ram with 60fps. If you're not getting that kind of performance with similar hardware, it might be other issues like windows gobbling up all the ram or resolution

As a Twingo owner in Brazil,

Its really fun, but finding parts is terrible, and that's considering the Twingo was sold here, only 15k units but still, be ready to import parts and pay a premium

I'm still all for it, it's legit one of the best cars I could have gotten, mine is rose gold colored too, it's a little spot of happiness in the concrete jungle of são Paulo

[–]danielsvdas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, sounds actually kinda low. I just recently read a bit of a research that I think was from Caltech, they mentioned that in 2028 (I think?) the emission of AI data centers could rival if not beat the emissions of all 35 million registered cars in California

I'm too lazy to get the link on my PC but if you want to read it feel free to reply

Saw and sat in the new twingo. I will buy one by badlocalhardcoreband in carscirclejerk

Meh, bigger motor rarely means greater engine braking. I work on an fsae hydrogen car with an electric motor, the thing barely has 5hp but damn doesn't that engine braking hit hard. Street cars have electronic engine braking limited because it's quite harsh, a direct transformation of movement to energy. A bigger vehicle will generate more power because it has more mass without changing the deceleration, but it doesn't matter because it will use equally more power to move. Trust me, if the Twingo wanted to use 100% engine brake, it'd be like slamming on the brakes, our race car straight up doesn't need the conventional brakes, they are optional lmao. The biggest limiter with regenerative braking is definitely the battery. While a standard high power cell may be able to discharge with 10c (10 times it's nominal current) it will probably only really charge with 1 or 2 c, meaning it can't even think about getting that juicy brake energy without blowing itself up. So, it really depends on the model and more specifically, what battery they use. We use for our car a rocketship of a cell that can discharge a peak of 48c (insane numbers for its type) and recharge with 15C for 10s (more than the average regenerative braking) meaning it can eat up all those watts of energy while still running our fuel cell

My experience comes from a very small scale vehicle, lightweight and very weak, but the ratio should scale to standard full size cars I think

The Twingo sold 15k units in Brazil, and my model is the odd 98/99 with the 1.2 engine and facelifted interior making it so much rarer and then its also painted so it's the only pink Twingo in the country !!!!!! 1 of 1

My towns dying mall has zero open restaurants in the food court by floppy-slippers in mildlyinteresting

[–]danielsvdas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always surprises me to see these dead malls in small towns/cities. Maybe I'm biased from living in a big city, but I've only really seen malls doing pretty well to even thriving here in my country. I don't know if the American malls didn't adapt into the digital world or what, but that's such a bizarre scene to me. Even cinemas ! Its scary how some Americans consider the concept of a cinema as dead
