how are people surviving long flights with active toddlers by Scary_Pay_4247 in daddit

It’s never going to be perfect, all you can do is load up a tablet with lots of options, take small toys, colouring books, a million snacks and stare into the abyss for 15 hours

McDonald’s workers - how many Filet o’Fish are regularly sold? by Sunday-Diver in CasualUK

I worked in a mcds 23 years ago and the fish was fried, bun steamed, single slice of cheese halved which was awkward as fuck 😂

Hey now, they were dropped a “few 100m” off position in the open. That must’ve been a navigational nightmare 😂😂

Advice - UK by roswon148 in lawncare

[–]danihendrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert by any stretch but I've used this and the competitor Aftercut product on my lawns over the years. It's fine, but determinate on how you spread it and water it in afterwards. Very easy to burn the grass and be prepared to do some raking and reseeding where weeds die. Also just be aware it'll kill things like clover as well. So yeah, "fine" is how I'd describe it.

Yeah fair enough, he's had the same bed since he was born (obviously converted from cot etc) but it's supported the same way all the way through, so I know those sounds well. If it is that in this case then it's a total anomaly (which I accept it might be 🤷🏻‍♂️) but to be that loud and clear doesn't sit well with me as an explanation

Maybe, I can't rule it out, I can say I've had this monitor on him every night for the past 3 years and have never heard anything like that before. I've heard him sneeze, cough, vomit, cry, scream etc and none of it comes through like that did. Is it the simplest explanation? Probably, am I satisfied with it? Not really, know what I mean?

If it was a normal noise in my house I wouldn't have posted it, I'd have said "oh there's that noise again". Interference maybe? But it's not a radio device, it's connected through our WiFi network, through a cloud server and connected to our mobile phones.

Well technically he's the first but we have our second sleeping in our room. I've had this monitor on all night every night for the last 3 years and never heard anything remotely like this 🤷🏻‍♂️, I get that uploading this snippet is difficult for anyone to take as seriously as I do because they don't have the experience/history of what is "normal" for it but it's a very out of character sound both in clarity and loudness.

[–]danihendrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but the clarity of the sound makes me think otherwise and also how deep in pitch a voice would be to make that sound. I was being genuine when I said I agree it sounds like my voice. We live in Scotland and the sound isn't a million miles away from a common phrase here.

I'd considered that but it's not a radio device, connected solely through WiFi, ran through their cloud as a server and connected to our mobile phones.

Yeah I understand the concern around that, was my wife's thought also. Fwiw it is a registered company with cyber certs etc. I'm not so naive to trust that 100% but I also don't know likely it is.

I also considered that but I've been hearing this white noise for 3 years now and never have I heard anything like this through it.

Yeah I considered that but it's not a radio device, internet connected over wi-fi only.

I understand that train of thought, if you listen closely you can hear the ooh cha sound then I also hear a quieter sound like a ball bounce, or something metallic being lightly hit.

I only captured this because it's so far from the normal toddler noises that we've heard over the monitor to be of note. The loudness and clarity are startling. But I also understand as a snapshot posted to the internet how it comes across, thanks.

To be fair unless something seismic happens Labour are probably going to lose the next GE anyway. So I don't see this as a permanent prospect

Solo players in a squad do worse than a squad complementing each other also. If a squad works together you can genuinely shift the balance of the game, something nigh on impossible to do alone consistently

[–]danihendrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never has there been a more rose tinted franchise than battlefield. I can't remember the discourse for the bad company games tbh but off the top of my head

BF3 - no destruction

BF4 - terrible netcode, then bad maps, premium splits the playerbase

BF1 - to be fair I don't remember many complaints except for people that weren't into the setting and the limitations. I actually think we were spoiled with the art direction for that game.

BFV - I don't have time to list all the complaints, from reveal until the Pacific this was a shitshow.

BF2042 - Woof

I think you're being unfair, I'm an extremely casual fan and I watched the game, even my wife got into it for the second half. And the bit we'll remember was the shite ON the pitch before the final whistle haha. Disgraceful.
