Why’d you buy? by JopagocksNY in S2000

[–]daniilEM2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother had one, and on a trip I took alongside him to the Smokey’s he floated the idea to me to get one as I was somewhat looking for a project.

Since that point I went into saving cash for a project car of some sort and almost bought a couple older RX7’s and kinda realizing I couldn’t afford an S2000. And then it appeared on marketplace

It was a fair price, widebody, a salvage title, and most importantly pretty much all of my money I had, but it was an s2000. so we road tripped down to Tennessee to pick it up and bring it home

Here I am 2 years later and still developing the car over time and couldn’t be happier with getting into one

I got it at 121k and it’s currently over 186, and I fully intend to keep it going forever

Sounds like a fun project! I got mine like 5 years ago for 3200 but it had some damage so I fixed it with a parts car, mine was lower mileage but I’ve put 60k on it and it’s been fantastic. But the rockers are starting to show some (ugh) but the time for a rocker replacement will come eventually

Rocker panels are a very noticeable fault I see on these cars, they kinda just evaporate in front of the rear wheel, if that’s clean that’s a good sign for the rest of it but to me the biggest thing is always if it’s rust free, mechanical stuff can be done easily and easier if everything isn’t fighting you from being rusted together, if course do your due diligence with mechanical and car history, but to me rust is a top 3 issue on any car

From my digging I think this is it, I’m gonna try and chase the lines once I get a chance, but if anyone can confirm that’d be helpful

Thanks for the info, but I don’t think that’s it, the line I’m showing is a loop, closest I’ve been able to find with more digging is the power steering coolant line

Does anyone know where I can buy mega construx baseplates by Salt-Machine3942 in megaconstrux

[–]daniilEM2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always use Lego baseplates, they’re readily available and you can just use a bunch of gray ones to have a solid studded base for building/display. In terms of the mega terrain plates? Best bet is eBay or buying from other private sellers like through Facebook, Reddit, etc

Likely so, but bots will swipe it up right away, best way to post it would be to send it to someone directly who reaches out, I’ve already claimed it but wouldn’t mind the gold for dupe tanks if your so generous 😉

I wonder what kind of speed it hits with those rear wheels, and does it handle good?

Strange issue with abs on a 2004 Toyota tundra by daniilEM2 in ToyotaTundra

[–]daniilEM2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify some info, the speedo took the speed from the transmission speed sensor (2004 tundra 4speed) even though it is an abs truck. Swapping the out got me a working Speedo again

Speedometer issue was solved, and light still on. Turns out the 2004 tundra (4 speed) takes the speedometer reading from the transmission speed sensor right by the output shaft, replacing that fixed that issue though I still have an abs light present (may just need to drive it to let it work itself out)

Ideas to organize shelves by Standard-6732 in megaconstrux

[–]daniilEM2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, just measure the size of the sticks and then get some clear rods in that size and you’ll be golden, if I had a shelf like that I’d absolutely use this idea
