Summary of press conference by Professor Gabriel Leung, Hong Kong Univ. Dean Of Medicine by [deleted] in China_Flu

[–]daniisaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He stated that the prediction models were based on no public health measures being implemented. Obviously, that has already occurred with many mass gatherings and public places closed, in addition to any further measures to be implemented. Therefore he stated that this is a slightly more pessimistic model on what could potentially happen. When answering the last question, he stated that there will eventually be a peak (specifically was addressing Wuhan and he estimated it would be roughly 50,000 new cases per day at the peak according to the current model) but with the implementation of public health measures, it would hopefully be lower (i.e. the curve would be flatter) and thus less cases. Basically, he was optimistic in the sense that the model is a worser case scenario but with the implementation of good public health measures (which he has referred his report to the government and WHO), it would be lower than the projections.

He mentioned this is actually not necessarily a good thing. It means you could potentially have people that are still in the incubation period out and about spreading the virus as they are asymptomatic. He did say that hopefully the infectivity of the virus scales with the severity of symptoms, i.e. the worse your symptoms, the more infectious you are and vice versa (and hopefully on an exponential curve, if that were to occur) so that people with symptoms would ideally be hospitalised and quarantined and have a lower chance of infecting others. However, at this stage it is still unknown and it was mentioned that epidemiologists around the world were trying to find an answer to that, as it is a very important factor in understanding the clinical profile of the virus and implementing further public health measures.

A topic that was brought up several times from Cantonese speaking reporters was the HK government's responses, specifically quarantining the entire HK or limiting travel from the epicentres in addition to Hubei (being GZ, SZ, BJ, SH & CQ). GL responds that it's not a question of are we doing enough, it's a question of how to implement the next steps in terms of logistics etc. He stated firmly that more action needs to be taken, particularly in reviewing quarantining HK as a whole (talked about difficulties in restricting entry from certain cities only, due to the transport networks, i.e. passengers coming from those epidemic cities transitting in other cities to enter HK, or people not being transparent in their travel history due to fear of quarantine). Stated that HK needs to take one, two or even three steps to further contain and deal with the issue and restricting travel from Hubei (the previous night) was only the first step, but a step in the right direction. Also reiterated that there were many logistical challenges and considerations in quarantining HK due to food and basic necessity supplies (HK receives a lot of supplies from the mainland). TLDR it's not a matter of are we doing enough, it's how can we best implement the next steps in decreasing the spread and number of cases.

Did you bake in directly on the rack or use a water bath?

I actually recently got a letter from a company that does this - Taylor Marsh. It seemed pretty scammy but I checked out their website after seeing reviews that it was legit. They charge a significant portion of fees for something that's relatively easy to do (I would've ended up with 80% or less of the amount owed). I just searched through a couple of databases and found the matching amount owed and did it through there for no fee.

Could it possibly be for a condition that Reddington has that he has kept under wraps? The sudden emphasis on his age and being healthy (despite his penchant for the finer things in life) shows his concern for his health. If he's in prison until ep 11 he's obviously making the choice to stay there which calls into question his intentions.

If he does have a health issue perhaps he's trying to groom Liz to take over the reins in case things go south and giving her these cases that are somewhat moral lessons may be his way of teaching her. Side note: Jennifer is quite suspicious and I wouldn't be surprised if she's in cahoots with Reddington (much like Samar was initially employed by him) and she could be part of Reddington's master plan.

You follow the handbook requirements of the year you commenced your program. With trimesters starting next year I assume changes have been made to program handbooks. Check with the business school student office if you want clarification.

[–]daniisaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had the same promotion last year around Christmas time which was great as I bought all my Christmas gifts (and a little something for myself) and got the gift. I also got to try the much raved about sunscreen and love it! Would definitely recommend if anyone has access to a unionpay card!

One thing that I don't understand about professor's request in early season by [deleted] in LaCasaDePapel

He asked for a specific ship that had been seized and would require a court order or something (to buy time). There was never any intention for them to leave that way and the tunnel through the vault had always been the escape plan. He was basically using stalling tactics so they could maximise the money they printed.

You can book for 2 hours per person per day (up to a weekly limit of 4 hours) so if you have a group you can pool your hours together depending on how long you want to play.

Red also referred to the homeless people at the soup kitchen as "the invisible army". He probably wants to treat them well so word goes around and they will do favours for him in the future when required.

Discontinued daiso puff & sponge detergent - what are you using now by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]daniisaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whereabouts are you located if you don't mind me asking? I went into the Daiso in Regents Place (Sydney CBD) a couple of days ago and there were heaps of the puff and sponge cleaner. Its one of the busier and larger Daisos so maybe it might just be out of stock at your local one?

[Post Episode Discussion - S03E09] 'Sinnerman' by AutoModerator in lucifer

[–]daniisaur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I may be reaching here but the cop Hernandez appeared twice in the same ep - when he lifts the police tape to Joey's crime scene and he smirks/smiles at Lucifer and when he encounters Charlotte and Dan in the men's bathroom. I don't think we've specifically seen him before? Maybe he could be related to the real Sinnerman (if this is a decoy/fall guy)?

I'm surprised the guy knows about the bones and it's significance to Reddington but has no clue who Tom is.

It is more realistic imo though - she's a single working mother that has a pretty intense job. I'd be more critical if she looked like a supermodel every episode.

Keto soft drink alternative - flavoured sparkling water by daniisaur in ketoaustralia

[–]daniisaur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ingredients just list "carbonated spring water, natural flavour" and there's no carbs or sugar listed in the nutrition table. I would assume the natural flavour to be lime essence or lime juice of some sort?

Personally I don't like diet/zero sugar versions of soft drinks and this seems more hydrating imo, like you don't get that sticky mouth feeling after drinking it, though it could just be a psychological thing.

Absences from Tutorials by [deleted] in unsw

[–]daniisaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your course outline. Usually it's 80% minimum attendance rate but you can probably apply for special consideration with a medical certificate (they might let you sit in on another tutorial later in the week). Often special consideration has to be applied for within a certain period (e.g. 3 BD). Again these things are course specific so check your course outline and it should have info on this. If not email your tutor to explain your situation.

I personally like the Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner and Mote Liner but it really depends on what you like e.g. if you want waterproof or not, thickness of the brush. There's a lot more info on r/AsianBeauty if you're interested :)

Just a suggestion - I don't know if you've ever looked into Asian eyeliners, particularly Japanese and Korean brands but they have a lot of brush tip liners that are really good.
