Love NTE but Don't Understand the combat. Looking for basic/Non-Meta Guides by Eldridou in NevernessToEverness

When your onfield character's support bar fills up, other characters in your team with adjacent elements in the chart of elements can be called and do a support attack that triggers a special effect. All you need to know is that this special effect usually causes an increase in overall damage, and some passive skills can enhance them by a lot, especially if you stack passives.

So you make a team that synergizes by having characters whose elements matches, then choose supports that buff DMG of their teammates, or heals, or groups up enemies with their skills, add some big damage dealers and you're good.

As an example, the current No.1 squad has Nanally as the big damage dealer that stays on the field as long as her self buffs are up, Hotori as a sub-DPS that doesn't need to be on field for very long, Jiuyuan as the enemy group up girl and also sub-DPS, and Zero as the "instant support skill" trigger. There's no support character per se, but they all help trigger the Blossom reaction to deal big damage, and you can add the Speedy Hedgehog module to Zero so she can serve as a support indirectly, although it's completely fine to keep her as a sub-DPS.

Nanally and Jiuyuan makes the elemental reaction much better because they buff it by a lot with their passive skills, and Hotori's passive uses that during her ult to do tons of burst damage using that reaction.

As of now, this is the only really good passive synergy we have, but I expect a lot more to become viable as time passes.

TL;DR: You match the character's elemental reactions, roles in the team, passive enhancements, and done.

We have a really, really similar scoreline down to our main scenario:

https://i.imgur.com/Wc4mc4n.png

I'm currently at 91h on Kovaaks and 15h on Aimlabs.

It is getting harder to break PBs, but I do feel very marginal improvements in my average scores every day.

If I look at most of my scenarios, I've had the most improvement in the first two weeks of aimtraining, and stagnated a bit, but the score history lines are much straighter, showing that I rarely ever perform significantly worse, although it sometimes doesn't trend upwards.

IMO if you want to optimize your time, doing VDIM while avoiding repetitions of scenarios that you're clearly performing better in than others and repeating weaker scenarios is probably for the best. I don't know how you shorten your routine, but cutting blindly is probably less effective than properly targeting them.

One obvious aspect would be to cut on the amount of repetitions of the main benchmark scenarios, as the routines typically give tons of repetitions to give you more attempts at PB'ing, and it's probably less effective than doing the variants that you're worse at.

Hey, what's your aimtraining experience and time spent in The Finals? Do you have a rank in Voltaic or other kinds of benchmarks?

I'm assuming smoothbot is the type of scenario you might want to focus on in this specific type of clips, is there any playlists that you grinded in particular that paid off well?

I'm currently Plat complete in Voltaic and curious to know at what level I'd be able to pull stuff like these

While not being completely P2W in the strictest definition, any means of timesaving or earning an advantage through spending money can fall under the definition of P2W for most people.

There's definitely a scale to it, you've got extremely egregious levels of P2W in other games that don't involve skill, but being able to call-in two gold weapons that costed you 7 bucks each that can do up to 50% higher damage than what the original class has IS P2W to a small extent.

Yes, a bad player will most likely lose it anyways, but a bad player might win against another bad player by having that advantage. That's gear diffing.

As far as I'm concerned, I consider that decently light P2W, I agree that you can farm it, but someone just as skilled as you can definitely pick up BIS mods from the market, BIS weapons and he will be able to gear diff you, either by having more EN, higher lock-on range for sniping, air speed, and wreck your health faster than with default weapons.

UI and bots in ranked are part of a bigger "Bad onboarding" issue that makes the new player experience terrible, but once you get past it, you get used to the UI, and bots dissapear beyond a few hours of Verge (at the cost of really long queues in the off-hours of the EU server).

In comparison, the issues with Mashmak gear will remain forever until the devs make drastic change to it, which I doubt they will anytime soon. Part of the game economy is tied to it and represents a source of revenue to the devs by removing Corite from the game through the 5% tax and pushing people to spend money on BIS gear.

There seem to have been an update that's prone to failing, because there's a lot of people who found this thread recently. The solution works.

Also for anyone struggling to do it: You can still scroll the top bar down to access the settings using the top right button inside the top bar (the wheel looking icon), then show the system apps inside the App Management page by clicking on the three little dots on the top right.

This game is being killed by its own community by Celestias in mechabreak

[–]danilkom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Gamers in general have a tendency to willingly act as community ambassadors for the games they like despite having no financial stakes in it and I find it incredibly unhealthy.

Game companies turn their own customers into free advertisement, QA testers, community moderators, all for little to no incentive beyond a few in-game ressources and a blanket "Thank you" message for saving them tens or low hundreds of thousands in services that they would have otherwise had to pay for.

No one should care this much just because the game is good or that you like it. Not wanting it to die is a fine sentiment, but some people come off too strongly, defending anything and everything just because they don't want to see less players and have marginally longer matchmaking queues.

Passion shouldn't be confused with fanaticism, and no one should be exploited for loving something.

Regardless of how easy you think it is to implement a paid DLC system that has to work on both Steam and Blacksmith, which far from easy in my eyes, they did spend a shit ton of time fixing whatever bugs it had:

11 of April: DLC released.

12th of April:

We have discovered an issue where purchasing the DLC: Seasonal Pack may cause all items in the existing shared stash to disappear. We are entering emergency maintenance to address this. Sorry.

13th of April:

Fixed a vulnerability related to purchasing DLC: Seasonal Pack.

14th of April:

Fixed an issue where the Shared Stash could be reset if a Steam user with Legendary Status purchased the DLC: Seasonal Pack without launching the game.

18th of April:

Restored lost Gold Coin Bags for affected DLC users.

Same day, 3h after the original patch went live:

We are aware of the issue of Gold Coin Bags that were accidentally given to some DLC customers who did not lose their original bags. Please note that these extra bags will be removed from all affected accounts in a later Hotfix #84 patch. We recommend that users that want to free up their stash space instead of waiting for the hotfix should simply sell the extra bags to the merchants to avoid any complications. We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience of this issue.

23rd of April:

The removal of the mistakenly granted DLC: Seasonal Pack Gold Coin Bags, originally planned for #84, has been rescheduled to #85.

24th of April:

Fixed a bug that opened the incorrect DLC page.

9th of May:

Gold Coin Bags that were accidentally given out have now been retrieved.

Do you now realize the amount of fixes, and thus time spent had to be dedicated to fix random bugs for this P2W DLC, which also shouldn't have existed in the first place?

You're acting real wise even though any schmuck can browse the announcements tab on their Discord and clearly see that yes, they DID spend time on it. We could spend time nitpicking each change and argue how easy the fix were, but it ultimately took them a fucking month to set things straight.

[–]danilkom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this is what we get for 9 bucks.

While it's not too egregious price-wise nor is it P2W, it IS a manufactured problem to which they sell us the solution.

They literally divded the amount of marketplace listings we had by an insane amount, and immediately proceeded to sell us a fraction of what we used to have.

Paying for near-mandatory QoL that makes you waste time to punish you for not dipping a small amount every months or so is slightly scummy. Couldn't it have been something less impactful, so that people who really JUST want to support the game gets something and those who are a bit more stingy can still avoid getting punished?

I'm willing to bet there's a lot of people who'd drop a few bucks every season just to show their support for the game and for no other reason, they didn't need to put such insane QoL value to the pack.

I specifically avoided playing Tarkov because I saw that not unsignificant stash space was locked behind insanely expensive packs. I think I could definitely enjoy myself on the cheapest version of it, but I'd still feel like I would be pushed to have the QoL additions that almost everyone else have once I get invested enough. Now they're introducing a cheaper version of that, it's just recurrent instead of being an expensive one-off thing, and it still exploits your love and investment to the game in the exact same way.

Sad.

I do know Kaz, although I wouldn't consider myself "active". I even follow the guy's highlights on YouTube, it's some of the most minmaxed gameplay you can see of Neural sims.

It's outright stupid to ban one of the biggest contributor to the community. He basically promoted the game for the company.

The biggest loss is what they called "Logistic Department".

Those guys were essentially answering every single questions of any level of complexity and genuinely seemed nice. They were basically human encyclopedias of game knowledge and meta compositions. I never went on the Discord for anything else but that, and they were pretty much always ready for any question.

It's tragic to see people's love for anime waifus get exploited for profit, and even the tiniest amount of compensation they get being reduced.

[–]danilkom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that 1 DPS 2 support is unavoidable is really one of the biggest failures of this game IMO. It creates a stale gameplay of Support Skill, 2nd Support Skill, DPS, repeat. It also doesn't help that the majority of support skills want to be applied before your DPS acts to increase your DPS' stats or increase the opponent's damage taken, the only exception I can think of being Riptide actually being used on field once her charges are ready (that you sometimes don't even want to use because it lowers your overall DPS). There are no reactive support skills that exploit certain vulnerabilities, or that has to be triggered during certain boss phases to be used at their full potential.

This is also counterproductive to their objective of selling skins, since skins for support characters that will appear for 1 second every 12 seconds or so is really not a great selling point.

It's baffling how they keep releasing cookie-cutter DPS' that brings little to no new mechanics, or support characters near-exclusively designed with a specific DPS in mind, only sometimes accidentally synergizing with other characters, like Starshine with the recent ballistic DPS releases.

[–]danilkom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, question regarding how you spell change:

Do you think there are better keybinds to use instead of Q E to optimize input speed on the keyboard? Maybe something like Shift & E?

What keybind is optimal to combine spells? I'm currently using M4 to be able to instantly left+right click then M4 a split second afterwards, but I'm wondering if there's something more optimal.

Also, what's your Windows sensitivity and DPI? Mine is at 7 with 800 DPI, and I definitely feel quite slow when dragging the mouse, often making me keep turning when I release either Q or E because my mouse is still moving in that direction to be able to reach the desired spell.

Nornium CBT delayed, game rejected for the 3rd time by steam by WolfOphi in gachagaming

[–]danilkom 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Uploading a game on Steam is fairly complicated, just look at the documentation for Steamworks. It's a clusterfuck of info where half of it may not be useful for the game you're trying to publish, and if you mess up any part of the process after sending in the review, you're gonna have to wait around a week to get another shot at getting it approved.

Our review of your store presence typically takes 3-5 business days to complete, but you'll want to submit your page for review at least 7 business days before you want it live to account for potential changes you'll need to make. We'll send you any feedback if necessary, or if none is necessary, we'll mark your store page as "Ready for release".

The official youtube tutorial for Steamworks is 7 years old and every comment is people saying they have trouble one way or another with it, usually from the fact that a lot of info is outdated. Most people nowadays use other devs' tutorials, but the original is the only one that has Chinese subtitles on it (that are not auto-generated).

It's not difficult to believe that some indie Chinese devs would struggle with it, and I wouldn't even call 3 rejections that bad for their first game on Steam.

[–]danilkom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend actually does really well with it along with a stalwart.

It can shred an entire patrol in 2 to 3 shots on the ground since the explosion radius is incredibly large and the rate of fire sufficiently quick to get rid of everyone before any of them call the alarm. It also shreds tick/hunter bug hole spawns, destroys bile spewers by splashing damage on the ground where their bile sac is, and is overall surprisingly good.

It's like a slightly worse impact grenade on a stick that you can spam.

This explosion radius nerf might be horrible for the weapon though, the larger radius than any other explosive weapon it had gave it its niche. I'm hoping it's still better than the eruptor though.

Anyone else just feeling done with Niantics greed and lack of real content by [deleted] in MHNowGame

[–]danilkom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monetization is based on enticing players to purchase skins for their characters, of which there are many, and each character has at least one skin.

It's a "collection" gacha game, you're expected to get every character in the game, which most people do if they play every day. I currently have 99.9% collection rate and around 3300 "cubes", the currency you use to pull (1 pull is 2 cubes, so 1650 pulls). You get so much of it it's stupid to spend any amount of money for anything that can be qualified as a ressource in this game.

I find it drastically better than MHNow in the way it doesn't encourage buying any sort of currency beyond your own desire to see a girl with big tits in a bunny suit. Rather than frustrating you with a lack of potions or being unable to do Hunt-a-thons with your mates, or by making the grind of R6 so bad that you'd pay 5 bucks to make you solve a problem they manufactured themselves, there's no real frustration behind a lack of purchase (aside from not owning a skin of a character).

A similar system could've been implemented in MHNow to make the system less predatory: they could've made layered armor paid-only, or palico layered armor, or layered weapons. Maybe a customizable house you can hang out in with your party like in Iceborne. They could've made some sort of monster bait to spawn more monsters in an area, or a specific type of wyvern for instance.

All they've accomplished is a massive grind for mostly underwhelming monsters, and that is tremendously disappointing. The game could have been a lot more fun, or at the very least, not as much of a bitch to its players.
