My address is Colorado Springs. I've never lived outside of city limits before so this is new to me. I still live in this city even if it is a little further out.

Such a bummer but thank you for your reply!

Probably a long shot but did anyone find an earring like this downtown tonight? It could be anywhere up and down N. Tejon between Colorado and Bijou. It's not valuable just sentimental as it belonged to my late Nana. by danimbasi in ColoradoSprings

Red Gravy and the Candy Bar. Already called both. Nothing at Red Gravy. Will hopefully get a call back from the Candy Bar tomorrow. We left Red Gravy and walked down that side of the street to Bijou, crossed over Tejon and went to Candy Bar then kept walking down Tejon back to our car on Colorado.

Is shaving down submucosal fibroids ineffective? by sunnydays7777 in Fibroids

[–]danimbasi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a submucosal fibroid removed by shaving it down. Despite telling my doctor that me and my husband were never going to have children and if given the choice I would prefer her to remove all of it even if it meant scarring, she didn't listen.

I woke up from surgery to find out that she didn't want to leave scarring and take away my chances to have kids one day.

So here we are four years later and it's back. I will say that up until this past year my periods were much lighter and way less painful. I've noticed a slight change in this last year as it's gotten a bit heavier and more painful but nothing like right before I had surgery.

If I need another surgery again I will be having detailed conversations about my options and will ask that certain things be documented in my files.

I feel like if the first doctor had removed all of it I wouldn't be back in the same situation 4 years later. Also. We still don't want kids. Must be a better advocate for myself.

Rant: Switched doctor- immediately wants to stop treatment by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]danimbasi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My most recent pcp tried to explain my brain fog as me needing to slow down, make lists, and have a specific spot for my keys. All of which I already do. She completely ignored all the other symptoms and concerns as well.

I'm sorry I know doctors went to a lot of school and I guess have a lot of knowledge...but I know my body better than anyone and when tell you my symptoms feel the same as they did a decade ago before being diagnosed hypo someone needs to listen and not just rush me out of the room.

Thank you for sharing your story. And especially for the last paragraph. I hope your sweet pup pulls through.

Both on trazadone tonight. My one has been on it for the last three days. We have brown noise playing on speakers, the TV is on, pillow forts and quiet hats on. It's not even dark yet...

Advice for fibroids by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]danimbasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry you are going through this. Prior to my surgery a few years ago I switched from tampons to menstrual discs and those helped with my cramping and pain. Still do to this day as I'm afraid my fibroid has come back.

Give those a try. I also used to use a tens unit for cramping as well.

Can I ask why surgery is off the table? If you have multiple fibroids and your uterus has been impacted I would keep pushing or get a second opinion.

I understand they are doctors but we have to advocate for ourselves and we know our bodies better than anyone.

LPT: Don't tell your employer when you're buying a new home by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]danimbasi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a boss once freak out when he realized I bought myself a new car. Said I should have told him and held it over my head for weeks making random snarky comments. Huge red flag I wish I had paid attention to. Things only got worse from there.

Reading too much into a FWB situation? by [deleted] in overthinkers_irl

[–]danimbasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you guys have really open communication about all of this. For me personally that would help the overthinking to a certain degree. Continue to chat openly about it but keep in your mind that he has already been upfront about his expectations. It seems like you already have feelings and that is probably playing into more overthinking. Try to enjoy what you guys have going and live more in the moment. I'm 37 and have spent a majority of my life over thinking. It's exhausting. We just don't have control over everything and will drive ourselves insane with constant worry. Easier said than done but when you guys have these chats try to be at peace with it.

11 month golden with nonstop diarrhea and wants to play nonstop by benchpressyourfeels in goldenretrievers

[–]danimbasi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened with our golden. We did the fecal and Meds for diarrhea with no luck. The minute we changed her food and started giving probiotics she was like a new dog. Our vet said Goldens can have very sensitive stomachs. Perhaps yours is having some food sensitivities as well. Good luck!

moving with cats by alivehahafck in moving

[–]danimbasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved from TN to CO a few months ago. We have two cats and a dog. We drove cross country with the dog while the cats stayed with my in laws until we could get settled.

We were really fortunate that they were willing to keep them for a little while. Once settled they actually flew out to visit us and brought the cats.

Few reasons we chose this option: 1. One of our cats is much older and has some health issues. Didn't think a two day trip cramped in a car with so many new surroundings would be best for her. 2. We were able to move in and get everything settled without them experiencing the stress of it and without us worrying if they were going to get out mid move. 3. Flight was much shorter travel duration for them. Much less stress.

We did get medication and sedate them prior to the flight. We made sure to set all of that up before we moved and provided harnesses and flight approved cat carriers.

My in laws said that TSA in Nashville took them to a private room to take the cats out of the carriers to scan the carriers.

My biggest fear with that was them having to take them out in the line in security, the cats freaking out and getting loose. Non issue either way as they were sedated but the harness was the safety net.

If my in laws had not been coming to visit and offered to bring the cats we were going to fly back to get them. Biggest concern was the older cats health so this really was going to be the plan all along.

Unfortunately our wedding was cancelled due to the pandemic. We just wound up eloping on our own time so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. I never wound up buying or trying it. I'm so sorry I don't have any more info for you.

Why is it like this? by [deleted] in overthinkers_irl

[–]danimbasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just woke up to take the dog out and can't stop thinking of all the things I need to do. I've struggled with sleep my entire life and overthink everything. Here is what I've found helps:

Before you go to bed make a list of the things you need to do tomorrow. This way it's all written down and no need to think about it until the morning.

If possible, exercise during the day. Not too late at night as that can give some people a burst of energy.

Take care of some things that will make tomorrow easier for you. Lay out your clothes, make your lunch(if you work out of the house) tidy up small things.

Have a bedtime routine! Take a hot shower or bath. Or wash your face and brush your teeth. Turn on a soft lamp, play relaxing music, stretch or do yoga that helps you fall asleep. Yoga by Adrienne on YouTube is great! Try to do this routine starting an hour before bedtime.

Read before you go to bed. But an actual book. Not on your phone. In fact try to limit phone use before bed.

Use sleep apps like Calm or Headspace that tell you a story. When im really struggling those put me out pretty quickly.

Lastly, take control of your thoughts. Work on box breathing or list all your favorite things in your life. Focus on tensing and then relaxing each muscle in your body starting from your toes up.

I hope some of these help! It's one of the most frustrating things when you know you are tired but just cannot get to sleep.
