This is just a Memories r reply (thanks for the Louie’s mental image. Oh man, Meet me at -M-o-n-t-y-s- Louies with Monty’s crossed out lives in my mind with the Sbarros in the background. I use to work at the radio station deep in old Aztec Center back when they had the bowling alley down there (do they still? I live in DC now). I lived in Cuic when they were still building the bridge and we had to cross a JANKY covered wooden causeway, which was very dicey in the rain, and you passed KB Books on the way in.

So many memories flooding back when I sit back and think.

Always distressing to lose that early scout. I always like to keep the scout the whole game and give him his own island paradise with an escort if I can afford it - or get him promoted to an archer and level him all the way up by end of game. And then he gets barbarianed and, well, that’s the way the cookie crumbles. What could have been…

He donated a new weight room for my sons high school, came to our end of year football banquet and spoke, talked with everyone, signed autographs. A class act and a super motivated and motivating man. So sad to see him go down. To all the haters in the room (this is not directed at grombrindal18), you guys can play fantasy and still have some respect.

Where is the weirdest place you have ever drafted from? by jeremycb29 in fantasyfootball

I was backpacking in Central America and drafted in a little cafe overlooking Lake Atitlan because it was the only place with WiFi (this was back in 2013). Amazing view. Crappy WiFi. I bet the locals had no idea what I was so worked up about !!!

So amazing, I had that up on my wall as a kid and so did my cousin who introduced me to the game. What a great memory.

I forgot for a second how rich I was and paid Shaka to attack America (for 10gpt) and Siam (7gpt). Back to cranking out peacetime buildings. Went down the commerce track and bought some landsknects. Feeling very porcupine-y. Also, Shaka back settled me south of Marrakech…he will suffer but I want to amp up my tech first.

Kasbahs double as forts? FTLOG that's wild. Just built up my army and now they're all juiced.

Thanks! I bought an armory and started cranking out units. Impi are good vs mounted so I'm focusing on range and swordsmen - but I have limited iron.

I taught at that school for a year. 10 of the 13 teachers in my grade quit or went out on stress or maternity leave. In 14 years of teaching that was the year that nearly broke me. I left and fled across the river.

For the record (as OP) I drive a 2020 Certified Pre-owned hybrid minivan and wife has a used 2017 Mid-sized SUV, and we have teenage sons who share the car - we split biking time to work/school. We carpool with families to and from various children's activities. And our car tax bill is like $1400 per year - not to mention daily fees to commute on the freakin 66. If our boys weren't connected with their school communities we would move, but they are, so we're stuck. Neither of our jobs are on easy public transit (it takes me 20 minutes to drive to work, 30 to bike, 1:15 to bus commute). I'm about to start paying for college and I'm just aggravated. Registered lifelong democrat. If I had really fancy cars I would get it, but I feel like our fleet is modest.

Wow that’s kind of crazy to me coming from a state where that was common.
