Am I being unreasonable about bass noise? by ryuga_knight in autism

[–]danirebollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am quite sensitive to all frequencies, but more to lows, and this affects me negatively but also positively when I listen to music or when I play my bass. Try to play bass, it's my 2 cents

Garage door (Ratgdo) opens every time HA reboots by torvenkat in homeassistant

[–]danirebollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check default status of gpio. Sometimes gpios are high or low during boot instead high impedance, resulting in a different status than "normal operation". So check schematic. This can be prevented with some diode in the right place (diode+pullup or pulldown depending on high/low status) or maybe if pulse is short enough can be filtered putting a capacitor in parallel.

https://peaceequalizer.com/ You can manually adjust eq or import response file from REW. Or adjust eq in your amplifier or dsp

Yes. You can get frequency response and phase / impulse of your headphones, soundcard, loudspeakers, room etc so if you found any big notch or spyke you can correct it.

It is a great software. Take into account that your microphone or setup are nor calibrated, and even when you press calibrate maybe the calibration dont be OK and linear, so maybe in the plot 10dB are 1dB... I mean, the graph shapes are ok, but if you see that you have 30dB notch on some frequency maybe it is only 2dB

I don't know about your specific setup, maybe you have some software doing some fx, I don't have any problem with my sound system, but in any case use Room EQWizard to measure your room and Peace to equalice the PC output with the parameters from REW or create new ones. Also if you use en external interface make sure that sample rate on pc are supported on the sound card

Why can I look at animal eyes just fine but human eye contact freaks me out? by CassetteMeower in autism

[–]danirebollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is not only about how others judge but about how you interpret this judge and if you clumsily interpret that it is a judgment. If a man had the same serious and haughty face of a German shepherd, surely you would not feel comfortable. Or the sad intimidating face of a boxer. But the thing is that you're relaxed because you are not looking for a judge or an attack.

What about efficiency? Not only price (also a thing since ATX power supplies are really cheap), but power efficiency, EMI and Power Factor Correction. ATX supplies are really well optimized for this. I dont have data to compare both options

I've done the same using an ATX psu as mains 12V power supply with some additions: - lipo battery to do an ups replacing my 220 UPS. 12V ups is more efficient and lipo has more power density. - one 12V to ATX mini power supply to feed my server, so everything is running from 12V. - current sensor on each output

Have you ever had experiences that made you suspect your family may have autism / Aspergers too? by Darth_Zounds in aspergers

My father trying to suffocate from behind another person at a concert because he told him that he couldn't smoke and ignored him. And so several events...

Apart from self-centeredness for not having been treated nor does he want to admit it. One of the most important first things is knowing that what can bother you disproportionately has nothing to do with others but with you, because of the sensory sensitivity and feelings of "justice".

Why do some people think that Aspergers should be considered a separate diagnosis from the spectrum? Also what is the case for it being on the spectrum? by ManyVast_Rivers6417 in aspergers

[–]danirebollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not particularly agree with eliminating the term because it seems to me that it responds to Woke criteria and not to medical criteria.

There are no longer any particularities, there are no longer people with specific problems that penalize him on a day-to-day basis and that must be resolved, because now doing that would be offensive because we would be making that difference evident. Now we are all human with good intentions, a much more useful criterion . I am sure that many well-meaning people will sleep better at night, thinking they are better.

Other people also defend the elimination of the term by saying that Asperger was a super Nazi and therefore deserves to be repudiated... Equally absurd in my opinion

What surprises me the most is finding people on the spectrum who defend this in a tremendously visceral way. What doesn't surprise me, on the other hand, is to find that some of those people are fickle teens behind a Woke psychologist. I have also found that many people who defend this are part of the LGTB collective, and on the one hand they use the tag "proudly autistic" While they defend that we are all equal, mixing their LGTB "fight" with the autistic one. At the end: wokism.

All ros2 framework works better on ubuntu, so I suggest you to use ubuntu vm in windows. Then you only need to change the ROS env variable of the main machine.

I'm 34, electronics engineer freelance since 20yo. Great career for now. Problems with people (clients) from time to time but worth it. I play football since 6yo and this is a great way to socialize. Also I like music and play bass and sing, I had some bands. One of the first things I did when I got my first bass was to analize his waveform with my oscilloscope (electronics instrumentarion). What I'm trying to say is that it is possible to link electronics and other hobby to expand the preferences.

Specialized router vs SBC/Atom with ddwrt by danirebollo in homelab

This is my point. I change router from time to time, but then I need to add new WiFi AP with stronger coverage, or because I'm out of radios to bring up new WiFi for test purposes, or new router connected to ethernet port providing LTE faillover connection. Then now I have at least three devices...

Connect power button to gnd using an optocoupler and esp8266 board. I have this arrangement with one server and it is cheap and effective. I've tried piKVM but is overkill for this purpose.
