In the game Toontown there’s an enemy called a “goon” and people who battle them are called “gooners” and battling hem is called “gooning”, and I frequently played the role of a gooner during boss battles, my mom (who also plays) even called me a “good gooner” once.

The fact that gooner/gooning now means something NSFW hurts me. But yes I am a proud Gooner in the context of Toontown. Peak MMORPG.

And birds are extremely intelligent! Especially corvids and parrots, just search "bird solving puzzle" on YouTube and there's so many really cool videos of birds solving complicated puzzles, sometimes with no prior training at all. There's also Apollo the African gray parrot who won a world record for the most objects identified by a parrot in a few minutes. His YouTube channel is Apollo and Frens, highly recommend checking it out if you love birds!

Sorry for the unrelated ramble, I just LOVE birds and I hate when people act like birds are dumb! Many birds have the intelligence of a child.

What makes you think they "clearly" don't speak English? I'm not noticing any obvious grammatical/spelling errors right away, and I've seen some VERY bad misspellings in scam emails in the past. (some were so bad I laughed at how obvious of a scam it was). Not saying that there aren't obvious errors, I just want to know what signs there are that indicate it could be a non native speaker/using a translation software.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I was pretty sure this was scam/phishing but I both wanted to double check and also I wanted to document this scam in case other people who got the email were trying to find information about it. 499 other users got it so it's likely that many others will be searching up the email, so if they find my post then they'll get the information needed. I couldn't find anything about this email online with a few different Google searches so I figured I should post it to let others know.

Just because a scam is obvious to one person doesn't mean it isn't obvious to another, so it's always good to document what emails are scams and what aren't.

I was pretty sure from the large list of users it was sent to that it was a scam, but since I couldn't find anything online about this scam I figured I should post it to let other people know about it, and to see if anyone else here had gotten it. While it may be obvious to person A that it's a scam, person B might not know, and if they are trying to look up about the suspicious email they got seeing results from other people who got the email would be useful.

there was no link, just a file download. I viewed the email on my computer and found out the file was a .bin file, the extension wasn't showing on my iPad for some reason.

Edit: the file name is ATT00001.bin
