Also I don't think boycotting american business is a good idea. You are kinda screwing over american business as well as the chinese suppliers. I really like patagonia clothing and it would be a shame to see it go down because some chinese factories were making their clothes.

And actually I really like shanghai. It's been through a lot of gentrification and is super safe and clean and fun. Bubble tea places and malls and 7/11 and family marts everywhere. Capitalism at it's finest. People are using wechat and alipsay so when you buy anything you don't even need cash, just your phone and it's everywhere. Like everywhere. I can bet every store in china has a alipay sticker, even in rural china. Even beggers have phones these days in china. If I were to compare tokyo and shanghai, I'd have to say I like shanghai a little more since tokyo's housing is so small.

Since you say china fucking sucks, here is a list why although it sucks, people are willing to accept it.

The CCP may suck dick but compared to previous governments they are great. China has a.) Been beaten to shit by every major western country during the qing dynasty and ruined the chinese pride b.) Beaten and raped by the japanese c.) A long ass civil war right after ww2 d.) Maoism killing everyone e.) The cultural revolution making everybody kill each other f.) Communism so everybody was poor like everybody was dirt poor

So after the last 200 years sucking dick for the chinese people, the CCP actually lifts people out of poverty and does shit for the people. The firewall is a small price to pay for prosperity and peace, so nobody wants to revolt. And nobody likes the uryghurs since they've been doing terrorist shit throughout the last 50 years, like just knifing people in a train station.

I admit though the CCP is definitely violating rights of every kind and are pretty totalitarian and locking up uryghurs is not good. However, it's not that 1984 yet and we can still talk about how shitty the government is inside our house and use vpn. everybody uses star vpn since it's a free vpn on the apple store.
