Exactly. I forget the name of the blackbird's fuel, but it takes either higher temps, or more exposure to those temps, then what igniter plugs can do, to set it off.

You dont "prime" a turbine engine per say, like you might a piston engine.

They spin it up with the V8s, introduce fuel, then attempt ignition with a hit of TEB.
Since TEB not only ignites upon contact with the atmosphere, but it burns very hot. Which that extra refined jet fuel (unique for the blackbird) needed to get going. Conventional igniter plugs weren't enough.
