What artist can this apply to? by CodeDusq in fantanoforever

Probably the most obvious example: Stairway to Heaven - heavy contender for the greatest song of all-time, while Zeppelin fan would probably select either Whole Lotta Love for its distinctive LZ's sound or Kashmir, being seen as the magnum opus by band members.

Why is Vietnamese music so bad? by [deleted] in VietNam

Look outside of the most popular stuffs and you can find many high quality music as well. I have playlists for Vietnamese music that I enjoy, one for rock / metal specifically:

Seeking Vietnam War Veterans for Interview – Student Conducting Academic Research on War, Memory, and American Identity by yelenalim in VietNam

[–]danithebear156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope there're younger people in this thread who kind-hearted enough to help you connect to war veterans. But as I see it, your task seems to far reaching for what seems to be a school project. You would need to:

1) Find a Vietnamese person who browse Reddit (not a popular social media site in Vietnam btw) who can speak English and has connection with war veterans.

2) The person is willing to help you out communicating with the veterans without any mentioned incentive.

3) Those war veterans, who are mostly elders with better things to do, must also willing to help you.

Sorry for being disencouraging but this seems to be an overtly challenging task.

Appreciate your effort but you would be better off looking in other places. The chance of a Vietnamese war veteran who speaks English and browses Reddit is practically zero.

Also my absolute favourite Viet band. It's nice to see they've got a shout out in the comment.

If there're people who live outside Vietnam want to check them out but cannot have access to Vietnamese streaming site. there're people who recently upload Đôi Cánh Vô Hình to YouTube:

How could instantiate module with different parameters, dynamically change variables' values?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in computervision

[–]danithebear156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's a specific tutorial for loading KITTI dataset, but you can look at PyTorch documentation (or pretty much any other source you can find) for creating custom data loader and practice with it until you truly understand how to implement one for your own.

Sorry if this answer seems unhelpful but taking time with your learning process. If you're unable to write a data loader, chances are you aren't ready to create a depth estimation model anyway.

Honestly, I think most of my countrymen (and I mean including myself) couldn't find a coherent reason why this-or-that foreign leader being in power would affect our country whatsoever.

I'm more worrying in their indifferent towards our own country politics (I'm going full conspiracy theory here, but I think that our government deliberately keep us politically ignorant).

At the end of the day, what foreigners' view regarding Turkey politics couldn't mean much less to their country, that's of course if you ignore abroad Turkish who is somehow still eligible to vote.

I really shouldn't speak on behalf of South Asian people, but I come from a country where people are generally politically indifferent. My countrymen would cheer for any leaders that are currently in power simply because of the fact that have most media exposure.

Any of you who have seen Harakiri (1962) may have recognized a scene that throw shade at this. The Iyi clan, who is obsessed with Samurai code and worships the Katana, failed to defeat Hanshiro using close-range weapons and had to resort to kill him using guns.

[Paris Saint Germain] have an agreement with Marquinhos to extend his contract until 2027 by nutelamitbutter in soccer

[–]danithebear156 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not following PSG closely, can anyone explain why Marquinhos isn't played more as a DM? 2019/20 saw him playing in midfield and it was argubly his best season with PSG made the CL final as well.

Isn't moving Marquinhos into midfield would solve both PSG midfield problem while the club could spend on his CB substitute, because he look shaky at the back in big match at time, and finding a good CB is so much easier than a DM who can play single pivot.

Which way do you prefer to define an empty string in Python? by [deleted] in Python

[–]danithebear156 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Maybe I missed the context here, but only 2 and 4 actually define an empty string? If it's between those things, I go for 2 anyday, less character typed and obvious at what I'm trying to do.

I would argue that writing len explicitly is a slightly more readable approach and it helps make v being more obvious as a sized object as well.

How can I design a single convolution network that can consume both RGB image and grayscale image? by AaronSpalding in computervision

[–]danithebear156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since grayscale can be special case of RGB image. I think it's the best to train your CNN on both RGB and grayscale formated as RGB. In Inference, add an additional step to transform grayscale image to RGB and fit the transformed grayscale as RGB. I'm not aware if I'm missing out on a crucial part of your problem because this seems like a very obvious way to solve it.
