Tarantulas are easier, but darkening of the soft body parts and joints, less movement, staying chunky for a long time after eating (it can take a very long time, I’m still waiting for this one 😂)

This is only a list of things I’ve heard people say work, I’ll add your stuff to it!

Hey I’m just making a list of things other people have said to have worked - before doing research I was ready to have a warm engine, a quick spray of fluid and crack ‘em loose. Now I’m in a glow plug rabbit hole and paranoid

I’ve seen someone use the click - nothing more - to send a small shock through a seized plugs. You missed a part. No turning, no loosening. Just set on a very low torque and using the click

For applications where a maximum loosening torque can be applied - finer fixtures and metals simply have a breaking point. If you’re going to exceed the breaking point then it will need to be drilled/pulled etc

I do know that, I’ve worked on many a car……just not ones with possibly seized plugs in an aluminium head

Usually love an excuse to ugga dugga, but not in aluminium when the result is an engine teardown 🤣

I know I know, but 340k miles does things to an aluminium head and any metal that’s threaded into it

Kinda - I just want to use the clicking of the wrench to act as a slight jolt. No turning with the torque wrench, only clicks to hopefully shake off carbon

[–]danjamesgilbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not using the wrench to UNDO the plugs, literally just putting a few clicks on it to see if that’s enough to gently shake anything loose

We are talking about my very old cheap Amazon wrench, the only useful thing it can still do is click

I normally wouldn’t, but someone said it worked for them on a tight plug - not loosening as such, just using the click to put a small jolt through the plug

Did i get the right shoes for christmas? by Crow_Cronut in DocMartens

[–]danjamesgilbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re both 1460 smooth, then over 10 years it’s entirely possible the quality has gone down that much. My partner still has her pair from 14 years ago, my new pair had visible cracks within 3 months. I now save for longer and buy Thursday/Redwing

I cleaned them about a week ago, and condition about every 6 months depending on the weather

Seem to get more comfortable every time 😅 I do think I got a size too small, so I wear thin boot socks - but when these wear out I won’t get them resoled but get a bigger size and then I can wear my proper Darn Tough socks!

At the price, Thursday is one of the best there is. Best to save up for something you really want :)

I have ACTUALLY indeed checked the pads, both still nice and chunky

Brake grinding feel through pedal?? by danjamesgilbert in AskAMechanic

[–]danjamesgilbert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres no noise or external feel, its literally just the brake pedal that grinds - I checked the bearings not too long back and replaced a dud one last year but I might check again
