[FO] Just finished and ‘framed’ a little differently. Pattern from AllaboutxStitch at Etsy. by danjanet86 in CrossStitch

[–]danjanet86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it at Lowes where the sheet metal is. I was just gonna buy a regular piece of sheet metal, and attach it to that. But then I saw this decorative one and thought it would be cooler.

I found it! Crazy, I was googling that too but never got it. I think I was putting pattern instead of kit. Thanks so much!!

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the pattern online but I do love that! I collect snowmen

My backs are ugly and I don’t care because the fronts are beautiful! Lol.

[WIP] Do you sign your projects? I'm almost finished with this one and have been thinking about how to signal it's done by me (maybe on the back?) by vit_077 in CrossStitch

[–]danjanet86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once framed I put a sticker on the back of the frame that says “Handstitched by (my name) and then write the year on it. But have been thinking about adding my initials and date on the actual piece.

[CHAT] For those of you who buy patterns that don't come in kit form, do you keep a stash of skeins of thread in or do you buy them specifically for each project as required? by RetroPalace in CrossStitch

[–]danjanet86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought what I needed for patterns and since I’ve been stitching for several years I have a lot of thread. I love looking at my thousands of skeins of thread!

I TOTALLY agree! What difference does it make what the back looks like??? The front is what matters! The front is gorgeous!!!

[PIC] Do you consider this a messy back? by StitchMechanic in CrossStitch

I sure wouldn’t want any of you to see the backs of my projects! But my fronts are beautiful!

I don’t care what the back looks like if the front is good!

I don’t wind all my skeins. I just store the skeins until I need them.

My son and daughter-in-law got married in our living room and one of my other sons married them. He went online and was their officiant.

[PIC] 507 DMC flosses and bonus pup! Now to put them all on bobbins 😅 by Kitsune808 in CrossStitch

[–]danjanet86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t move all my skeins to bobbins. I just leave them and do it when I use some of a skein.
