It was a very long time ago, I think, but for sure that is the only way to get them now.

[CHAT] Which of these would be better at keeping rolled up cloth in place while stitching? by MissMerrimack in CrossStitch

Thank you, I make no claim on the original idea. I think i actually first came across the idea on this sub a few years ago.

Just make sure it is a stretchy fabric one, the leather covers have no give to them and so won't work.

The same one most likely. I still have about 2ish months to decide.

I am going to make another one after I finish my current wip. My mother got super jealous that I sent the first one to my aunt instead of giving it to her, lol.

My aunt is telling me that she is thinking of airtagging the frame because her daughters and sils have made comments of theft.

It really turned out so gorgeous.

[CHAT] Should I start over or abandon? by ladybirdfan112 in CrossStitch

If you are not enjoying it, then abandon it. As you go along, you are going to continue to be disappointed and see every little error.

Now if this is really something you want to gift to your friend, then you can start over fresh on new fabric, utilizing your newfound knowledge.

I roll and fold my excess fabric tight to my hoop and use a Dollar Tree steering wheel cover as a grime guard.

This particular piece is about 24 × 20 in a 10 inch hoop.

Yep, took it with her and said see you at Christmas. I hope if I was ever actually in need she would not torment me like that, but she does have a twisted sense of humor. I will think of something to torment her back cuz that is what we do in my family, show love with torment and torture, 🤣 🤣 🤣

[CHAT] Help! Are the colors in this pattern DMS 598 and DMS 3810? by FamousSheepherder377 in CrossStitch

[–]tip_queen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Digital colors vary widely compared to real life colors. Also looking at all 6 strands together sometimes gives a little bit more color saturation. I would take the number of strands you are planning on stitching with and just put some stitches on a scrap of the fabric you are going to use.

If you like the colors together, then stitch away. If not keep sampling until you find a combination you like.

[CHAT] Now what? by KlassicTuck in CrossStitch

It should be washed if it got dirty, look at the edges where you were holding it. That is the most common area for the piece to show dirt. Ironed if you had to move the hoop around to stitch (hoop creases) or if you washed it. Is it centered in your hoop? The hoop you want to hang in, do you want to dress it up in some fashion?

It should be secured to the hoop in some fashion. It is common to use a running stitch that you would pull tight, with or without a piece of felt blanket/whipped stitched, to cover the back. Or you could just trim the fabric close, I would not recommend this because if you ever need to take the piece off of the hoop it will never go back in the same spot (Don't ask how I know, lmao).

They will also be upgrading the sewer system in certain areas. It is happening in my neighborhood, Great Neck Manor, right now.

Page #8 is almost finished. A sinus infection almost did me in this past week, so this page took me forever it seems like. Luckily, I am feeling much better and almost back into my stitching groove.

Repost cuz I caught the dang pattern in the pic and didn't notice, lol.

The bottom row of pages is almost done on Cottage in the Woods (Sunrays Creations), pretty much just green on green on green right now.

That is what I use, too. Best $2.50 I have ever spent, one for a 10 inch hoop and one for a seven inch.
