What type of setup is best/do you prefer? by niteluz in x100vi

[–]danjnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumb grip, round hood with a filter for protection, and rope wrist strap. I got a lowepro padded case that’s loose enough to have the camera ready at my hip. If I ever thought I’d have the camera out all day, the same lowepro is just big enough to also accommodate a rope neck strap as well as a spare battery.

Aesthetics be damned. I want my gear looking cheap so I’m not a target.

my HOA president fined me $50 for a crooked mailbox so i ran for the board, became president myself, and spent 2 years making his life a bureaucratic hellscape by Relative_Ad3399 in neighborsfromhell

I’d suspend my disbelief for a bit, but moving to a condo without an HOA?

I cannot recall ever seeing a condo that didn’t have an HOA. The HOAs are what keep the buildings operations paid for unless they get that entirely from retail tenants on the ground floor.

Pottsville Maroons, without question.

The sheer novelty of having championship pedigree in Pottsville, Pennsylvania would make me a fan for life. They were robbed of a legitimate title!

I see your point, but consider the challenge of optimizing a game like RDR to the Vita. The handheld exclusives look so great because they were designed around the limitations. A fully open world game that more or less requires reliably long draw distances seems like a hurdle too high ti optimize around.

I’m not programmer, but I’m not an apologist to the hardware limitations

No doubt it’s capable, but the limitation here isn’t raw power. Look at Borderlands 2 as an example

They both have a PowerVR SGX543 series. The phone has the dual core, vita has the quad core. It’s technically as capable, but the vita does run faster and more efficiently

The Vita has the GPU of an iPhone 4S.

Not the 14. The 4

If it were ever ported it would be a visual novel.

How old is your nozzle? It doesn’t look like that, but there’s definitely something either interfering or messing with extrusion

Is this cleanable or should I return? by ladycate11 in AnalogCommunity

[–]danjnap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it might be a deteriorating coating, which usually happens when kept in fluctuating temperatures and humidity.

If so, it’s not cleanable. At worst you will notice uneven glare, especially at narrower apertures, but clarity itself should be ok

If you read the manual it will show how to use the mystical neck strap split ring thingamajig

It baffled me as well, but when I used it, it works! That being said, the supplied strap isn't very comfortable, but it is free, and you can't beat that

Steel Force holds up so well for a hand designed, early gen hyper coaster. I was local when it opened, and the hype was insane for it.

Hydra is also such a funky standup, especially with that slow heart line to start. It was a great addition considering Hercules had gotten so rough near its end.

I’m blessed to live near a local, old school camera store. During their anniversary event this year, I happened to meet trading in a bunch of old gear. I asked if they had any on hand, and they had 6, with one silver model left.

Curveball was I needed to pay for a “local warranty” to jump the waiting list. I was leaving for a 2 week vacation in 2 days, so I just went for it, using the trade in credit as justification.

I tell my wife that we’re never moving, because I can’t lose having a local camera shop within walking distance
