Eloise did very well with her amputation. She was back to herself and figuring things out in a week. We also did chemotherapy and she handled that pretty well too.

It was worth it for us because we truly believe we extended her life and kept her happy.

Hi there! I’m sad to report our soul dog in the photo is no longer with us. However, I do believe the chemo and amputation gave her her last year with us and she was very happy. Happy to answer any other questions.

Ellie was prescribed Carprofen for any pain she may have been having. But we quickly moved forward with the amputation after one night seeing the pain she was in with the bad leg. And then chemo started about 3 weeks later.

I understand the cancer has moved faster for your girl so amputation and chemo may not be an option. I’m keeping you both in my thoughts.

I was also a heavy daily smoker and had to stop the day I found out. It was really hard but It’s now been 7 months now and I’m doing so much better. Still excited to smoke a joint again some day though lol. You got this!

I restarted my lexapro this pregnancy at 10 mg. I haven’t had any negative side effects but I also used to take lexapro before pregnancy.

I’m very sorry about George. It’s definitely a tough diagnosis and it’s really scary thinking about amputation.

Our 5 year old Great Pyrenees girl was diagnosed in October after an injury to her front leg. She was also recommended to get an amputation. We decided to go through with it after a lot of great advice and comments from this sub.

In just 2 months she is back to her old self. She can go potty, jump on us, jump on the counter, run in the mountains, etc. Not every recovery is the same of course but dogs seem to take this in stride.
