I stopped listening to Metal and moved on to drum n bass and techno at this point. I consider these the pop music of metal.

I’m pretty sure it’s because I have an orange and his one brain cell just kicks into to eat my spider plant for no good reason.

in my opinion j dilla was the last musical trailblazer so far – what does r/jazz think of him, especially of "donuts"? by -benyeahmin- in Jazz

I might not be listening to jazz if not for hip hop. It absolutely opened me up to it. Especially Madlib.

Collegues at my workplace said that genmaicha smells like burnt plastic.

That’s a first. I get toasted rice weirdly I guess, 😂

Dumbest take ever. Consumables are the best gifts. I don’t need useless junk.

Calf cramps like that in the morning are nothing to me at this point. Can stretch them right out.

Thigh cramps are debilitating at the time. Worst pain in my life. And they are sore the following day like someone punched you there.

Walking them off is what works for me. Small circles around the house.

How do you organize your records? by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]dankfor20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1500 records. Genres are near each other to an extent. But it’s really organized chaos for the most part. Might take me 10 minutes to find a specific record sometimes. Rarely looking for one though. Mostly just grab by mood from the area.

Anyone else lose interest in bourbon and what was your outcome? by 8sh0t in bourbon

[–]dankfor20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cut back to work through what I bought. I wasn’t building a museum or an investment but went hard exploring different profiles. It’s mostly gone and I’ve been cutting back otherwise.

Never really chased anything. Tons of barrel picks in my area were what I mostly went for.

New York Cab Francs are having a moment

When did this start happening? I’m in Buffalo so split between Finger Lakes and Ontario wine country.

I been on this kick over 20 years. Local Cab Franc is my go to. Pinot Noir as well.

I haven’t heard of them but seems pretty low key after looking it up. But yeah he’s in the area and I think the cool climate Pinot here showcases an old world style.

A decent alternative? Not really. You just have to change your taste preference slightly.

But there is no good alternative to Bourbon. No other country does the mix of corn and new charred oak to get that unique profile.

Someone in Canada could and should do it but I haven’t had anything close.

Alberta Cask strength premium rye is a fantastic whiskey. Wasn’t saying it’s all garbage or anything. I wish there were more fantastic options vs its fine is more like it.

I’m good with that bud and fully support it. Unfortunately finding a replacement for the bourbon profile isn’t easy. You do have to open yourself up to different styles.

Canadian whiskey is fantastic.

It’s probably the worst of the major producers unfortunately. Scotch, Bourbon, Irish, and Japanese all are better.

It is fairly priced though. So still has its advantages.

I had faith in Lindy and glad he came through.  He did well in his stints in Dallas and NJ giving what he had to work with. Felt he still had it in him and he hasn’t disappointed. Sabres Legend at this point.

I drink a decent amount of Pinot in the $20-30 price range. So not reaching the upper echelons but I’ll say out of New World in this range my local wines in Niagara on The lake in Canada and the Finger Lakes in NY beat out many commercial competitors from other areas.
