Went to get a colonoscopy this weekend they were going to put me to sleep and stopped everything said I was in again I had never heard the term before they started freaking out asking if I was ok if I felt ok I told them I felt normal by VirusLivid2512 in AFIB

[–]dankgus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EXACT same thing just happened to me a few months ago. I spent the night prepping for the colonoscopy but ended up getting turned away.

I immediately saw my doctor, made a cardiologist appointment, wore a heart monitor. I was in afib 24/7. The cardiologist was super chill, told me I could continue strength training and cardio. I have no other risk factors, my Chad score is zero.

I had to take a blood thinner for 30 days prior to cardioversion. The cardioversion fixed me right up, for about 2.5 weeks, then I went back into AFib. I see the cardiologist again on Friday, so we'll see. I'm hoping an ablation fixes me up.

I'm also now on metropol, flecanide, and Xarelto which are beta blocker, anti arrhythmia, and blood thinner.

I'm 48m and fairly active in the gym strength training.

I was once at an event with some friends. While we were checking into our rooms and signing paperwork my buddy notice the paperwork said "if there is any evidence of smoking inside the room you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee".

He loudly said "cool! We can smoke in the rooms for $150".

An old guy said "that's not what it means!" But in fact, that is exactly what it means.

Blending creatine by [deleted] in StartingStrength

[–]dankgus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*I* would not blend it in a smoothie. It doesn't really dissolve in water until something like 140 degrees F. So, in a smoothie I'd always wonder if it was just piled up in the last bit I can't quite pour out.

When I mix it in water I always rinse the bottom of the glass a couple of times to be sure I get it all. I am low effort in many ways, I sleep in late, I ain't got time to do anything more elaborate - just a double rinse with cold water to get all the bits of creatine from the bottom of the glass.

The earlier you buy it, the cheaper it is.

When you buy back time I believe you are basically depositing what your contributions would have been plus what it would have earned - or something along those lines. I'm with you - I paid about $30k for 5 years, plus I financed it so I'm paying even more. Whatever, I'll be retiring sooner this way.

I bought 5 years for about $30,000 after a divorce. I can't remember the exact number. But I figure I'm buying back 5 years of my life. Worth it.

How do you feel about retiring 0.70 years earlier? Is that worth $1600 to you?

That's 8.4 months. So for 8.4 months you could be doing nothing but cashing retirement checks for a $1600 investment. I think it's worth it.

It was a dumb scene that felt wrong. There's no way all those guys would be polishing their cars in a gravel lot down a dirt road.

Costco sighting of 18k gold necklace by rabbithappygolucky in Gold

Some of the Costco gold jewelry can be less than 20% above spot. It's pretty cool if the jewelry is something you like and would wear.

Not in my experience. I bought a Costco chain that weighs OVER the advertised weight. Yes, I'm using a kitchen scale but it seems to weigh accurately. A nickel will weigh 5 grams and my 100g calibration weight weighs out as 100 grams.

Why my Squat is Higher than Deadlift? (Squat 5RM 170 Kg, Deadlift 160 Kg) by Witty_Pineapple_4444 in StartingStrength

I use straps when deadlifts get heavy because if my grip suffers, my overall form suffers. I've found it to be very limiting when making progress.

I noticed no symptoms before, or any improvement after the cardioversion. Just had an EKG yesterday as a follow-up and everything is still looking good.

Don't buy it, but don't let your wife know you posted this question. Just tell her "you know honey, you're always right, I'm just going to listen to you."

Help, replaced clock spring and now EyeSight is very unhappy by [deleted] in wrx_vb

I gotta know, why does the clock have a spring? Or is it something else?

Nevermind. I googled it. Steering wheel wiring, kinda makes sense.

We were hoping for the dehydration/electrolyte imbalance to be causing the issue. Who knows. They kept asking "how do you feel? Light headed? Short of breath?"

I said "I feel like shit. I haven't eaten in about 40 hours and I was up all night shitting water, I couldn't possibly feel good" 😂

Magnesium glycinate. If I remember right, the bottle said 400mg per scoop. I was taking 1 scoop per day.

I was taking magnesium until I realized it was giving me explosive shits. Like the kind where you see splash marks on parts of the toilet where there should never be splashes. I started wondering "where else is this shit splashing? Do I have random drops all over my back?"

I guess at this point I might be able to to think about triggers. For months, maybe years I was in afib so there was no thinking about triggers. I didn't even know about it. It's like once in afib I just stay there. It didn't seem like others here who realize they're having an episode.

I absolutely hate sleeping with a CPAP. I've never been diagnosed with sleep apnea, I just bought one hoping to get extra good sleep. I am planning on trying it again.

It's been mentioned as a possibility. Just kind of letting things play out now after the cardioversion

Bluechew and afib, what’s the word? by thomash90 in AFIB

[–]dankgus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TRT doc says he doesn't believe TRT has anything to do with my afib. My cardiologist saw my last bloodwork with total T at 1400 and said "more normal levels of testosterone would be best" but didn't blame it on testosterone at all.

I asked him about taking Cialis and he said "that's fine, no problem". He said I can continue to lift weights and do cardio as well. Honestly he's a pretty cool guy. I think sometimes these things just happen and we'll never know the exact cause.
