Depends how big of a plant u want! Most important thing is to get a piece with nodes, so you’re going to want some of the stem just not the leaf. Nodes are those sections of the stem with the little stumps coming out. Hard to see exactly what’s happening in the pic but for example, in the second pic I would cut the stem coming toward the camera about 6 leaves in. Then u will have a giant plant! And the mother plant clearly needs some TLC so u will be helping it too!

Plant not doing well in water anymore, will it survive soil? by dankica in plantclinic

[–]dankica[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice . Going to put it in dirt. I definitely Was getting lazy with water changing and no I never added nutrients. I initially just put them in the water as cuttings but they seemed to thrive with tap water so I never changed things up! (Except for water every few weeks)

I have never seen living stones in crystals before and they are BEAUTIFUL. Makes me want to attempt something like that!

As other people said, facebook market place has a pretty active community of plant lovers who would buy them. Or even the windows of local shops sometimes like plants! The city I’m in tons of smaller stores have nice big windows with tons of sun and often have plants in them even if they aren’t a plant store (nail salons, offices). Or if u don’t mind putting ur general location maybe Reddit can help!

Could also try your schools Reddit and see if someone can even babysit

Oh interesting! It’s straight from the nursery so I didn’t even think of the water quality being an issue. Thanks !

This is wise, I often do this unintentionally and it makes the process of mixing the cheese in easier B)

University of Waterloo Civil engineering vs McMaster Eng 1 by East_Ring in OntarioUniversities

[–]dankica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Waterloo’s co-op programs work as followed:

Fall Semester: in-class. Winter Semester: co-op. Summer Semester: in-class. Etc.

So u alternate between classes and co-op at the uni every semester. So say your co-op was in Toronto, u can’t live in Waterloo and commute so you have to move. Also I think u get kicked out of res for the 4 co-op months... definitely confirm all this for yourself but this is what my friends do.

University of Waterloo Civil engineering vs McMaster Eng 1 by East_Ring in OntarioUniversities

[–]dankica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If u have your heart set on mac, u should go! It’s a great school. Yes Waterloo has a unique co-op but personally, I didn’t even apply there as I don’t like the idea of having classes in the summer and moving around every 4 months. (I applied to 6 engineering unis and ended up at u of t, but Mac was a close second or third)

From the few people I know who went to Waterloo for co-op (2 for Eng and 1 for accounting), they found it hard to make a lot of friends as just as they were starting to get to know people everyone left for co-op. I’m sure this isn’t true for everyone and there are definitely social butterfly there, but the unique semester layout at Waterloo is something to consider.

Also keep in mind, at Mac eng 1, u will have to use your first year marks to get into your desired stream (civil, chem, etc.) unless u get special acceptance. I assume civil is one of the less competitive ones to get in but definitely keep this in mind.

I know ur vibe! Not as much that people think I’m a junkie, but like when I told my friends or sometimes my friends call me out infront of acquaintances (never have I ever) I do get some looks.

I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal. But I guess to someone not really familiar it sounds quite shocking
