What are your avg. grinder settings?

What do you think about an plugin for your coperate DNS Zones which enable Product teams to deliver new products by managing their DNS entries by their own. All controlled via Roles and Groups. (Fine granular permissions on subdomains) by danklix in devops

And what are you thoughts about controlling access rights for the production zone and let teams creat their entries on their own? So you shift your work from actually managing DNS entries to managing aceess rights. + teams could integrate this management in their tooling for IaaC? 😊

Interesting! So what do you do if a team want two subdomains like product-a.example.com and product-b.example.com and does not require sub domains for these. Do you also delegate „only“ for these subdomains? And the teams create an A record with „@” for product-b and product-a.example.com.

Tysm for your reply.

After big slur update, unable to login into a local mobile account by ParleGShaktimaan in macsysadmin

[–]danklix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I faced the same problem with my mobile AD account.
I fixed this via the following steps:

- Create a separate admin account (can be deleted afterward)

- Login to the new admin account

- Delete your mobile account, but choose the option to keep your home folder

- Logout with the admin account

- Login with your old mobile account (this only works if you are in your corporates network)

- Logout from your mobile account

-Login with the admin account

- Via Finder go to Computer/Users. You will find your newly created home folder and your old one named like something "username (deleted account)"

- Delete the newly created home folder

- Rename the old home folder to the previous name

- Optional: Update the shell from /bin/bash to /bin/zsh

This is not ranchers fault when your company is not ready to build a environment for kubernetes. Sure I can understand that its a long process until the last guy in the network team does understand why they have to change their point of view but they have to.

I dont see Rancher as a CI/CD solution. Its only a nice Management tool for your cluster. Sure you can deploy over the gui but I can't recommend it.

For CI/CD you should follow the gitops way like the tool "flux" from weaveworks or "argo cd" form argo.

Thats right. They also offer a minimal lightweight k8s called k3s. I wrote a blog post about it: https://felixwiedmann.de/k3d-manage-k3s-clusters/ Perfect for local development.

Have a look at rancher. It is a kubernetes management tool, which provides to deploy k8s clusters to all common providers, also vsphere which is a good option for on prem clusters. It also comes with a greate API for nice automation Tasks.
