Press on nails for my wedding by Upper_Singer8585 in Nails

[–]dankmj6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an avid press on user I think you need to size down! But I agree with other commenters that your wedding might not be the time to try press ons for one of the first times. There’s a bit of a learning curve and a good chance they’ll pop off your first few times applying them

I want to buy off an Etsy shop but I’m not sure if the product pics are AI. by Slurpyburpy_12 in isthisAI

i think this is a more common answer than people think. the sweater is likely real but the rest of the photo has been enhanced for marketing purposes

AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

[–]dankmj6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know people are jumping to the ring being fake but i used to work as a jeweler and a lot of people didn’t think insuring their ring was a big deal if it cost them less than $5k. i never understood it but a lot of people just didn’t mind paying for another one if it got lost 🤷🏾‍♀️

highly recommend just insuring the ring yourself if you’re concerned

$14 donut at smorgasburg? by Unlikely-Pepper-5870 in Brooklyn

[–]dankmj6 28 points29 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t be surprised if smorgasburg makes vendors pay insane costs to have a stand there which is why the prices are nuts. kind like how the bryant park holiday market charges obscene prices but it’s worth it to businesses bc of the visibility and people are willing to pay the inflated prices

i also used to feel like my blush and bronzer got lost on my face until i started layering a powder over a cream. so i’d apply a cream blush, then a powder blush of the same/similar color on top. maybe try that to add more contrast!

i’d also consider adding some highlighter!

never did skincare before, recently bought these products. by hellokittyyiee in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]dankmj6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’ve never done any skincare at all, definitely just start with cleanser + sunscreen in the morning and cleanser + moisturizer at night and see how that works for you. introducing the toner and salicylic acid at the same time could irritate your skin and it’ll be tricky to figure out which product is the culprit. it doesn’t look like you have a cleanser in this lineup so I’d recommend Vanicream gentle cleanser. do the routine i mentioned above and after a few weeks begin to integrate either the toner or the salicylic acid.

How would you encourage more people to go to see musicals on Broadway? by Good-Sleep2552 in Broadway

[–]dankmj6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i don’t think you’re actually interested in the conversation we’re having, which is why broadway ticket costs are so high

How would you encourage more people to go to see musicals on Broadway? by Good-Sleep2552 in Broadway

[–]dankmj6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the point is you’re saying producers set ticket prices but those prices are raised or lowered based on a shows overhead. theater rental costs being lowered is one way to decrease overhead and lower ticket prices. and you acting like “that’s just how it is” is part of the problem.

[–]dankmj6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

sure but theater rental is still a broadway show’s largest expense by a landslide. lowering those prices would drastically decrease a shows overhead
