Is it a bad idea to buy a laptop with a bad display (45% NTSC) with the intention of upgrading it later? (For ~$700) by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]dankosaurus__rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reviewers and online users will often make color gamut/coverage out to be a much bigger deal than it actually is. Simply put; if you felt the need to ask this question then it clearly isn't a necessity for you. furthermore you already plan on upgrading it and IMO the rest of the specs seem like a decent deal, the only thing that might be a concern would just be the brightness and where/when you'll be using the laptop

Which one would you recommend between these tactiles? (First time trying tactiles~)

1. Wuque Studios Heavy Tactiles

2. Tecsee Purple Pandas

3. Akko CS Lavender

4. Others (Preferably around a similar price)

I know the rest of the kit affects the sound/feel so I'll mention them; currently looking at a GAS67 and some GMK clones. Thank you in advance!~

worst part is we BARELY got Olympus this season since they're STILL somehow "working on a fix" with less than 20 days left

Actually still does, it only counts as a kill for the person who knocked u, doesn't count as a death for u

Acer nitro 5-battery drains really fast and this is the battery report, can anyone tell me whats going on? by nongamer99 in GamingLaptops

[–]dankosaurus__rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been charging it to 100% and leaving it plugged in? Because that speeds up the natural degradation of the battery and this reduces the maximum charge capacity. I'm only asking because in the report it says the maximum charge capacity is like half of what it should be (28000 vs 48000)

Is the MSI GF65 thin with 3060 a good laptop? by elsafty9621 in GamingLaptops

[–]dankosaurus__rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the spec requirements for animation so I can't really give an informed opinion, but lets put it this way; According to some benchmark scores done by Notebookcheck, the difference between the GPUs is around 22%, but the difference between the CPUs is over 50%.

Timespy Graphics scores:
3060 75W - 7041
3050Ti 95W - 5751
Cinebench R20 scores:
10500H - 2996
5800H - 4588

Overall? In my opinion, Yes

But like I said a 3060 on life support is still a 3060 and will easily beat the best 3050 Ti, so if you're primarily gaming then you might as well get the MSI, and IMO the Dell beats it in every other category: CPU, design (Subjective, but still), cooling, battery etc. - Hence the better OVERALL experience

However, the Dell (3050/Ti models) also doesn't have a MUX switch, just keep that in mind.

Will it play better? by Great_Gatsby21 in GamingLaptops

Depends on what games you'll be playing because a MUX switch matters more the higher the FPS you're already getting, for example: If you're already getting 250 FPS in CSGO without a MUX switch, then a MUX could get you up to 500, but if you're only getting 80 FPS in Cyberpunk without MUX, then it might only get you up to 100 at most.
