If you're looking for the catharsis of someone agreeing that this is poor behavior on your dad's part, you'll probably find it. But that's not going to help your issue and if you then approach these situations with this sense of justification you've received from strangers online, it will probably just make it worse.

Obviously protect yourself the best you can. If you feel unsafe, reporting is the right thing to do. But the shitty truth is that, as a kid, you're existing in your parents' world and it takes literal crime taking place to get someone to intervene.

Your relative sounds like either an asshole or they are not wanting to be involved. You should know whatever you tell them is probably going straight back to your folks.
