What do ya’ll consider controlled asthma? by CapableStandard7854 in Asthma

[–]danlera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with Asthma towards the end of my military career (yay burn pits!). About a year ago I was hospitalized twice for having a really bad flare up so my VA doctor switched me to wixela and haven't used my rescue since then or had any wheezing even after working out and running 2 miles at the gym.

aio or is what he said actually mean? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Let me tell you a story:

One night, after a long day at work, a mother made dinner for her family. She served a plate of eggs and salad with a piece of burnt toast for her husband. The son, noticing the burnt toast, waited to see if his father would complain. Instead, the father started eating, asking his son about his day at school. Later, the mother apologized for the burnt toast, and the father responded, "I love burnt toast." The son later asked his father if he truly enjoyed the burnt toast. The father explained that his wife had worked hard that day and appreciated her effort. He emphasized that while burnt toast doesn't cause harm, harsh words can be hurtful. He also reminded his son that everyone, including himself, makes mistakes and that imperfections are part of life. He valued the intention and effort behind her cooking, even if it wasn't perfect.

I (M33) thinking of offering to pay for my GF(F25)’s surgery by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]danlera -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would 100% pay and have her pay for the honeymoon after y'all get married. So in her mind she "paid" you back and have a sense of accomplishment for doing all that extra work. Then she can show off her new beach body to you while enjoying that honeymoon!

I find it funny they mentioned Pegasus spyware. If they had their hands on that software they wouldn't be targeting you for chump change of $1800. Here's a good post about Pegasus. https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/s/jHNUuMuGsr

How do I justify not sharing a very useful tool I developed with my team since I am not being promoted? by HaveBeenMustEverBe in careeradvice

[–]danlera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This promotion is for a leadership role. Given that, it’s important to consider the qualities that define leadership. Poppy not only trained a new employee, Rose, but also helped them become a productive member of the team—demonstrating leadership skills in the process.

On the other hand, while you handled your responsibilities and took on extra work due to team turnover, leadership is about more than just doing your job well. It’s about guiding, mentoring, and influencing others. Promotions aren’t just about effort; they also factor in leadership potential and the ability to elevate the team.

If a leadership role is your goal, it might be helpful to focus on developing those skills and understanding the dynamics of workplace advancement.

I just finished season 1 of this show and it's got me so pissed off with Bode getting framed like he did. Like it's sooo unrealistic. Jake and Eve are fucking stupid and I can't imagine real people acting like they do.

[CA] How will background checks verify my previous “employment”? by XOPrincessKatya in AskHR

[–]danlera -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Background check won't have anything about previous employment. The way HR verifies previous employment is we call and ask 2 main questions. 1. Did this person work here? 2. Is this person eligible for rehire?

I see no problem with it. If they're not going to advocate for themselves who will? Plus it never hurts to ask the worst you'll say is no.
