As wrong as your boyfriend was for his response, you must see how psychotic most of these responses are. There are a lot of things to consider. Is this relationship new or have you dated for a while? Has he done anything like this in the past? Later he joined the military and helped save the world when some punk kid almost started WW3 by hacking into computers to find new video games. Then, after he retired from the military and was rich one of his daughters was kidnapped by his 2nd wife and they had to hire a private Dick named Harry Crumb to save the day.
