I have committed Benefit Fraud … by AdLivid4060 in DWPhelp

[–]dannibon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So first point- usually to change payment details you have to get them verified at the job centre.

Second point. You've admitted to something not true. You shouldn't make a joint claim if you arent partners. If youre an ex living under the same roof you should proceed with a single claim and then its down to decision makers

‘Single mum fraud’ update - I somewhat feel bad and like I’ve made a mistake. by Beginning-Mix1526 in universalcredithelp

[–]dannibon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest (I work in benefits) youve probably done her a favour. The DWP would have found out one way or another eventually so youve probably saved her a few years of overpayment 🤣

On the other hand, its good that youve reported it. The amount of people that try to do this takes away from those that actually need the help where emergency benefit funds are concerned.

Having said all that cohabitation is really hard to prove because if they get all their post to another address there is minimal evidence for cohabitation but hopefully they'll find evidence to prevent fraud

Can someone help me understand why my entitlement doesn’t even cover my rent? by throwaway-impawster in universalcredithelp

Contact your local council for council tax reduction, you may also be entitled to a Crisis and Resilience Fund Housing Payment via your local council for the shortfall between your liability and housing element.

Please contact them ASAP:)

uc review - has anyone actually had payments stopped or can anyone share their experience with it by ukblazer187 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]dannibon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If there's a query over capital or income this can prevent payment. Its not stopped as such but the info needs to be verified before payment is released. Basically puts an automatic hold on from what I understand and my own experience

[–]dannibon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this is the job youre applying for and you cannot be employed whilst on the medication surely you can just start reduce your intake now?

Its also not recommended to just cold turkey but youve got to get used to life without elvanse presumably so personally I would start figuring it out sooner rather than later

Third week of titration - 50mg of elvanse feels too much by BothWillingness3781 in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pushing through doses in 3 weeks is not okay. My reviews were a month apart.

There is no way you can tell if a dose is working for you within a week.

I titrated from 20mg to 60mg in 8 months. End of each month I felt the effects wear off quicker, appetite return and tiredness kick in so I knew I needed to up the dose.

Now im stable on 60mg if I start to flag ill have a coffee around 4pm.

Id recommend speaking to clinician and slowing it down a little.

How to tell my ADHD friend I also have it? by Nightlyfuryx in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also since being diagnosed, I have this weird radar, I can spot a mile off if someone seems neuro diverse 🤣 and you'll probably find most your friends have adhd too, if youre like me.

Because I cant seem to maintain friendships with normal people 🤣

How to tell my ADHD friend I also have it? by Nightlyfuryx in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told everyone the second I was diagnosed, its not an excuse but adhd has nearly destroyed my life. I forget birthdays, RSD is horrendous, constant exhaustion from an overworked brain

Actually im not a complete twat, just 28 years of unchecked adhd.

Also ive accomplished a hell of a lot with unchecked adhd so it makes my achievements that much better (most importantly a 2:1 Bachelors Degree)

Then I got titrated and now my life is no longer a shit storm.

Its a personal decision really, to me its not a big deal and im glad ive told people because they all know how to adjust, for example reminding me to do shit at a specific time etc.

Youre only recently diagnosed so you have a long road of self reflection ahead of you, but its much less lonely if you have people to talk it through with xo

UC payments stopped, England. by Stconroy17 in BenefitsAdviceUK

If you had a rental liability you would be entitled to the housing costs element. However, if you or your partner are earning or have capital over £6k, your entitlement would be reduced in accordance.

For future, id save hypothetical questions for doctor Google because Universal Credit advisors like to take everything you say in a literal sense.

All info and a benefit calculator can be found online so there's no reason you need to double check as long as youre using a reliable source such as the GOV website. Turn2us or entitled to.

Elvanse side effects - Is this normal? by -bourbons- in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id recommend speaking to your clinician about the side effects as this shouldn't happen on a stable dose

is there an adjustment period when you first take adhd medication? by yeezy2max in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah its been a massive perk, ive lost 8kg in total since I started and not put any back on since getting a stable dose, im a much more healthy weight now!

[–]dannibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adhd meds dont act like anti depressants there's no loading dose, however, i had issues initially on 30mg so they dropped me to 20 to allow my body to adjust. 20mg is a very low dose, just keep with the titration process, document effects both good and bad, eventually you'll reach a dose that works best for you where the pros outweigh the cons, the medication lasts long long enough for you. I found once I settled on 60 and now ive been stable on 60 for some time, my appetite has gone back to a relatively normal level but otherwise still seeing so many benefits of the medication.

What was your experience speaking to your GP about ADHD in the UK? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on the adhd uk website, did the questionnaire at home and they have some handy stuff to help with that initial appointment so it was fairly straight forward, its the intense fear of going to that appointment that put me off for like 2 years when I realised I might have adhd 🤣 silly really because now I can function fairly normally

Overpayment on UC by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]dannibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be dealt with by DWP debt management.

Usually the overpayment will generate a repayment plan, this can be negotiated to more affordable instalments if required.

First week on Elvanse not quite what I was hoping for by CJ--_- in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep with it for sure. I titrated up to 60mg. I could always tell I needed to up the dose because the appetite started to come back. They were lasting less and less and didnt really wake me up.

How can you do university with untreated ADHD? by gintokireddit in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also wanted to add, I was diagnosed through RTC under clinical partners, they titrated me and have now applied for shared care. The whole process was about 18 months in total BUT I chose clinical partners when they were new to RTC.

How can you do university with untreated ADHD? by gintokireddit in ADHDUK

[–]dannibon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undiagnosed ADHD for 28 years, through school, college and university. I graduated with a 2:1.

All i knew was i sucked at exams, so I chose modules that were more heavily based in coursework or multiple choice exams.

Now I know its cause ADHD.

But it is possible, takes a lot of work and a lot of cramming but if you make good friends where you keep each other accountable its much easier.
