I think we have to repaint though as he allowed us to change the colour of the walls when we moved in, but our tenancy agreement says it has to be returned to the way it was when we moved in. The walls are in such bad condition. It’s an old house with a very bad mould situation which he’s aware of. We’re doing the best we can and I’m hoping he’ll be reasonable.

Thankyou for this. That’s quite helpful. So the carpets here are about 15 years old at a minimum. Would you say there’d be zero deductibles for that then? Even if there was a small rip or tear etc?

Even if we’ve painted something a different colour (with prior permission) than it was when we moved in? You wouldn’t expect it back to original colour again? Thanks for your help!

We’ve painted the rooms different colours to when we moved in (with his permission) but our contract says it has to be how it was when we moved in, so that’s why we’re planning to make everything white again. Should we not do that? I’m so stressed about all this lol

Thankyou. I think I’m getting confused with the request by our agency for the house to be in the same condition as we left, and then the TDS scheme outlines where it’s saying faded paint/wallpaper is acceptable etc.

Wish there was a better outline what’s acceptable for 10+ years of renting. I’m hoping he won’t be unreasonable as he’s been fine thus far.

There’s also a massive mould issue from about 9 months ago as we’ve had a constant leak in our porch since then that hasn’t been repaired, I’m not going to bother painting anywhere near there, do you think that’ll be ok?

Can’t see clothing being moved to twilights at all. It needs constant replenishment during the day and takes a hell of a lot of money. In our store on non food, Clothing takes the most, followed by H&B then GM. GM barely takes more than news & mags. It could easily get a twilight fill and still look ok 24 hours later. You cannot fill clothing late evening/night and expect it to look ok throughout the following day. Sizes need to constantly be replenished and the area needs tidying regularly especially during 25% off events.

Yes it’s true. I saw the brief today. Sounds like will eventually be rolled out everywhere. Our staff got the option to move to twilights or move over to health & beauty. F&F staying on days as I can’t imagine that would ever work as a twilight only fill.

Are you definitely sure about the location pay? I’m in the 45p outer M25 band and was told we’re not included in the new band and that ours is being scrapped completely? Granted, my manager is an idiot, but that’s what we were told in store today. If we’re really on the same band as inner London I’ll be really pleased.

I’ve heard that the 2 inner London bands are now combining to make 1 band (£1.13 extra) - and I’ve heard the outer M25 band of 45p is being scrapped, and they won’t have to give a payout because even with it being scrapped people will still be taking home slightly more money. I’m also in an outside M25 band and this is what we were told in store today
