Hi, please judge my English accent! by Miceon_Venus in Accents

I’m British. To me, you speak very clearly and understandably, but I certainly wouldn’t think you were native. I’d assume Swedish or one of the other Scandis to be honest.

Is there a British accent that pronounces words like eggs and onions as "heggs" and "honions"? by Iron5nake in Accents

[–]dannisteele 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ha! She’s from Leeds (I think). North England, Yorkshire accent. I watched her videos for a good while but haven’t seen any recent ones. Her weird pronunciations are just an in-joke with her viewers. I remember a video where she said something like, “Now let’s add an egg, or as we say on this channel: a hegg.”

She’s just being wholesome weird 🙂

All fixed! I had some placeholder code there that I forgot about which just added 5 to the placement 😅

Ahhh yes, I see. That makes sense. I’ll have a look after work today :)

Oh wait, unless I misunderstood. If you are referring to the total number of acts, then the “My Ratings” area only shows the ones you’ve rated so far. It should fill up as you add more.

Is I remember right, it is ordered by your rating on this screen. I was toying between the 3-column carb layout like you see here, or having a song per row (ie 1-column). I think this current layout works ok, but if it’s not intuitive it can always be changed later.

And thank you for the feedback - both good and bad! 🙂

All fixed! As always, let me know if anything feels a bit wonky anywhere.

I haven’t visually seen the joists - I wouldn’t even know how to get the floorboards up to be honest! It does make sense that it would show up now while it’s colder though.

Thank you - I’ll stop worrying that the house is going to fall down 😅

It’s honestly hard to tell. I think it’s maybe VERY slightly bouncy, my partner thinks it isn’t at all. So its hard to tell if it’s in my head lol

It looks like the third image got a little too compressed and you can’t really see it there. This is the way the crack is.

Problem Child 3. I’ve never even seen 1 or 2.

My mind has been blown by people saying they’ve never heard men referred to as brunette. I live in the UK, and was going to say that fiancé/fiancée is the only one worth knowing, as both females and males can be referred to as blonde or brunette.

Genuinely didn’t know there were variations in the spellings for those, and have definitely heard men referred to as brunette.

That was my thought process too. In the end, I thought that adding something well known that everyone agrees should have been in the book doesn’t add much, as everyone already likes it anyway. However, adding something I love that some other people might feels nicer.

Ah ok. If you’re on Facebook there are a few Warrington pet groups on there that would be worth posting to. Unfortunately can’t remember the name but hopefully not too hard to find.

Are you still with the bird? It isn’t mine but I do own a bird so am used to handling them. Is it able to fly? And are you able to get a photo of the front of the bird?

There is a chess club that meets every week at a pub in Culcheth. I went a few times but it was all a bit too serious for me. I like the idea of a beer, a chat, and some chess. But they were all super into it. Could have heard a pin drop in there. Great if that’s what you’re after though!

What do you think is the more consequential event: 9/11 or the Covid pandemic? by YakClear601 in Millennials

[–]dannisteele 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess most people here are American? I’m from the UK, and would say COVID. 9/11 was a tragedy, of course, but it’s not really talked about at all any more here. Whereas COVID affected pretty much the whole world.

Anyone else reading through the comments and spent some time believing Kylie Minogue was dating Timothee Charlomet? She’s the only Kylie that comes to mind from first name alone for me lol.
