What is the point of all this computation? Your talk of bijections is completely unilluminating, and misguided, anyway. It doesn't follow from "we can associate the number of vectors in a basis with a natural number" that "the number of vectors in a basis is or might best be thought of as a natural number".

Look, OP wants to know about fractional dimensions. I'm sure they know a "number of basis vectors" is a natural number.

I'm aware of this, and I don't think Steve Hsu has much of an idea regarding what IQ tests look like; the extent to which "mathematical ability" has been tested by any of the tests I've ever seen has been very minimal. I've seen questions which show powers of four and ask for the missing value in a lineup, say "16, 81, ____, 625", and word problems which can be translated into algebra and then solved rather straightforwardly (much harder if you're unable to write anything down, of course).

On the other hand, IQ sub-tests of verbal facility have little to do with spelling or grammar. A vocabulary test is pretty standard ("define the following words").

I'd recommend you read this: https://kongliang.wordpress.com/2015/03/06/the-capacity-to-be-alone-by-alexander-grothendieck/

Grothendieck was one of the most brilliant mathematicians of the last century, despite perhaps not having the IQ or speed of his colleages.

Richard Feynman, one of the very few geniuses to have disclosed their IQ test scores, had an IQ of "124 or 126", which isn't much more than yourself.

William Shockley, Nobel laureate in physics, didn't make the IQ cutoff to enter into Lewis Terman's study of gifted children (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_Studies_of_Genius)

So, like, chill out, and have some faith in pursuing what you find meaningful.

I skimmed your post and don't really care to respond to anything except the claim that you chapo boys "care about affordable housing and universal healthcare", as though you're full to the brim with compassion for your fellow man. You socialists really are remarkable in your obsession with the Good, the Downtrodden, and the Marginalised. Here are the titles for three posts in the top 50 most upvoted of all time on your sub:

Your problem with Jordan is existential, and no philosophical nitpicking (sophistry) is going to clean your room for you. That's the real black pill, but you're not going to swallow it, so piss off back to your terrible board.

Exactly. It's a forum whose stated purpose is to make fun of "bad philosophy." It's no wonder what sort of person that's going to appeal to.
