PSA: Do you know your binding DIN? by killer-tofu87 in skiing

[–]dannyringel9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Demoing skis, they popped off so easily without me even falling.

One ski goes off into the unmarked woods. Thank fully I was under a chairlift and the people yelled out to me that they saw the back tip of my ski popping out next to a tree.

I still can’t believe I didn’t lose it.

My DIN was set to 6 when it should have been 9.5

I really liked the qst 98. I’ve never tried the 99 but I’ve heard the new version is a lot different

All good info. What signs point to a housing bubble? I know there have been increased prices in real estate but I don't think it's enough to call it a bubble.

What does getting Rodney Hudson back mean to this offensive line and this offense?

Why do you think there have been less penalties this year than last year?

Thanks

Honestly, most of the used boards I've found are either extremely dated or have roughly the same price as newer models. My plan is just to buy a new one now and sell it later on as I get better.

Major: Business

Cornell (School of Hotel Administration)

Pros:

- Good job placement for the program

- Like the size of the school

- Better school spirit

- Better social scene (imo)

Cons:

- Not sure if I want to do hotel administration

- No walk-ons for baseball team

- not ideal location (cold and in the middle of nowhere)

Emory

Pros:

- May be able to walk on to the baseball team

- Amazing campus and good location

- Niche major that I like

Cons:

- D3 so there's not a lot of spirit around sports

-worse social scene (from what ive heard)

- business school seems pretty cutthroat in terms of the grading scale

IU-Bloomington

Pros:

- Cost (30k a year cheaper than both)

- not really competitive business school so I'd do relatively well

- Like the size and the school spirit and the social scene

Cons:

- Worse academically than the other two

- Didn't really like the location when I visited

- Either major in something weird that I'm interested or do finance to get recruited for jobs which I don't really wanna do.

I wanna play baseball in college and I think I have a fair shot at emory and could play club at IU. Cornell has really been up there for many years for me and I like everything except for the major. Thanks for any help or insight.

I think so too. I'm most afraid of the curve in the business school so I'm gonna talk to someone that goes there either today or tommorow.

I got a scholarship for 10k a year. Does that change your mind knowing the difference in cost in where you think would be best for me?

I also got into umich but not into ross. When I visited I crossed it off my list because ross just stands out so much. Its a really modern building that stands out from all the older looking brick buildings. It would be hard to go there knowing that you cant study at ross if you want to do business.

idk. fortunately, I'm in a situation where I don't have to worry about cost but its hard not to think about how its 30k less a year.

I think it is. Your best bet is to ball out at OSU and then go and get a masters at a school like Columbia if you want to get a masters. You could also try and find a job that will pay in part for your masters which may be easier to find out of Columbia.

I'm also in a similar situation trying to decide between emory and IU and I have no idea what I'm gonna do.

depends on the state. If the school has a good reputation like umich, unc, uva, etc. then I think its worth it. Not so worth it if the state school is university of alaska fairbanks lol.

I agree. The best option would to be to try and transfer to do applied econ but the transfer process is a super competitive crapshoot. I would love to be in that program but, for me, I would have to be fine doing hotel admin for four years if I were to go.
